Sweden’s Prince Daniel is currently in Germany for a few days of official business, and today he opened an interactive children’s book exhibition at the Swedish Embassy in Berlin.

Entitled ‘Frech, wild und wunderbar – schwedische Kinderbuchwelten’ the exhibition highlights popular and well-known Swedish book characters, including Pippi Longstocking.  The exhibition also focuses on the Swedish “Rum för barn”, which translates to ‘Room for Children’ and aims to facilitate the “curiosity and desire in children” about books, stories, painting and music.

Prince Daniel spoke to the gathered group of children and parents, saying that he had fond memories of reading as a child and how it gave him a feeling of “adventure” and sparked his imagination and curiosity. He know sees that curiosity in “the eyes of my daughter [Princess Estelle] when she has discovered a new word and asks: What does this mean, Papa?”
