The Crown Princess of Denmark today participated in an ‘inspiration meeting’ of 100 organisations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they discussed ideas relating to next year’s Women Deliver conference (of which Mary is patron) that will be held Copenhagen for the first time.

Also on the agenda was a celebration of “gender equality obtaining a clear and undeniable position in the Universal agenda” and that it has qualified as one of the United Nation’s Global Goals, a program of 17 goals under the topics ‘end extreme poverty’, ‘fight inequality and injustice’ and ‘fix climate change’. The UN is aiming to eradicate this issues by 2030.

As part of the meeting, Princess Mary raised the red and white flag of Global Goal number five, gender equality, outside the Ministry. Flags for the other 16 goals will be raised around the world in the coming weeks, in the lead up to September 25, when world leaders will commit to the program during the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.
