Jordan celebrates National Occasions

Each year Jordanians celebrate the anniversary of the Great Arab Revolt and the Army Day on June 10th however this year the official celebrations took place on Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 in Amman. Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, accompanied by their daughters, Princess Iman and Princess Salma and their son Prince Hashem, attended a ceremony held by the Jordan Armed Forces to mark the Great Arab Revolt, Army Day. It was the 12th anniversary of His Majesty’s accession to the Throne and the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Emirate of Transjordan.

Upon arrival at the ceremony site, the King, in his uniform as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, was welcomed with a 21-gun salute. Also attending the ceremony were several members of the Royal family and senior officials and officers.
