Dutch State Visit to Norway – Day Two
Today, Wednesday November 10, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima started their second day in Norway by attending a seminar at the Deichman Bjørvika library. King Harald and Queen Sonja were present as well. The seminar, attended by young people from Norway and the Netherlands, was focused on the freedom of expression, combating cyberbullying and the consequences of online hate.
Then the Royal Couple was received by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at Akershus Castle. After a meeting took place a lunch hosted by the Prime Minister at the presence of members of the government, the Norwegian Royal Couple and Crown Princess Mette-Marit.
King Willem-Alexander, in his speech, stressed the importance of the cooperation and collaboration between the two countries.
In the afternoon King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima paid a visit to the Dutch naval vessel HNLMS Rotterdam where they met with the Dutch community living in Norway. Afterwards, on the Dutch naval vessel, the King and the Queen attended a meeting on defense cooperation between the Netherlands and Norway. Crown Princess Mette-Marit was among the participants.
In the evening, at the MUNCH Museum, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima hosted a concert for King Harald and Queen Sonja. At the concert performed the cellist Harriët Krijgh.
