What a nice fringe tiara-necklace

It would be a nice purchase for Spanish, Dano-Norwegian or Benelux royals

Originally designed for Irma su Fürstenberg

What a stunning tiara!

I agree, a lovely tiara!

As revealed by Vincent Meylan and Carol Woolton, the Anglesey Diamond Négligé is going on Auction at Sotheby’s in Geneva in November.

An heirloom of the Marquesses of Anglesey for over a century and a half, it is believed that the Négligé may be a part of the legendary Collier de La Reine at the heart of the ‘Affair of the Diamond Necklace’ and the subsequent French Revolution.

This is really a spectacular piece. I had never seen it before but it looks indeed somewhat simular to the famous necklace of (not) Marie Antoinette.

It looks similar alright but I think most of the French Crown Jewels were pilfered in 1792 when the jewel vaults were broken into and most of the gems were then broken up.
In saying that some of the diamonds could well indeed have been part of the famous necklace of Marie Antoinette of Austria.

Such an unusual and beautiful piece of jewellery. I wonder what are the chances of it being sold to a collection or family where it can occasionally be seen by the public.

Some lovely piece of jewellery that Mathilde and/or Mary could acquire as they rebuild their jewellery collections with a view to having an adequate collection as their children come of age.

Some useful tiaras:

Some necklaces:

Rings & Earrings:

Brooches

Bracelets:

Pearls:

If I had a penny for every time I see beautiful pieces on auction and go "Oh, Philippe and Mathilde should buy that", I'd be able to buy a penthouse on Madison Avenue! :(

That's a beautiful tiara that the young Princesses can use as alternate to their main tiaras, I hope Princess Eléonore receives a tiara with coloured stones for her 18th birthday.

If she gets ger own tiara at all. I don't think she will attend State Banquets so she will have close to zero occasions to wear one

Don't make me cry!

Her father is King and there's still many years before Elisabeth's future children are adults, I expect to see her around...even if just a bit.

I don't know how much use the younger Belgian RF children will have to justify individually allocated tiaras. i think Mathilde is better off just collecting a pool of jewellery and then lending out to various family members, as appropriate.

Sotheby’s Fine Jewels 10th of October in Paris

There are some nice Pearl and diamond pieces here that would really be welcome additions to the Belgian jewel chest
The pearls would look really lovely on queen Mathilde.

So quite a few pieces are from Dame Shirley Bassey's jewelry collection to benefit selected charities. Her collection is amazing! I know that the BRF is lousy with jewels but I like the idea of of one or two of her pieces become part of the royal collection.

Here's a little more on Dame Shirley Bassey’s jewellery
Anyone else hearing 'Diamonds are Forever ' in the background :D

WOW! What a fantastic jewellery collection. I need King Philippe to buy *several* pieces for Mathilde, lol!

Not only the Belgian, but the Danish and Spanish too!

Are you referring to the Belgian or the British royal family?

In Spain there are enough Jewels who are not worn by Letizia, so no need to buy new ones.

Other than new earrings it would be a waste of money as Letizia doesn't like wearing jewels
Queen Sofia's extensive jewel collection is far more impressive and the bulk will hopefully be added to the queens royal jewels.

Which Princess would like An Edwardian old cut diamond tiara set in silver and gold?
Its the sort of tiara either of Mary or Mathilde could buy to bolster the jewel vault for their children. That said, at c£35,000, it seems quite expensive for what it is.

Another quite lovely Victorian tiara. This too, appears quite expensive for what it is.

Before a jewel Auctions starts , the Royals are informed. Queen Mathilde and Queen Mary bought some jewels. A good idea because it is before the bids . King Albert II had to buy a tiara for the future Princes Claire , is was told that an historical tiara was to sell . it was too expensive to him.

It would make a fine tiara for Princess Eleanor!
