Don Felipe de Marichalar Turns 16

Don Felipe Juan was baptised in October 1998 and was named in honour of his uncle King Felipe and great grandfather, Infante Juan Count of Barcelona. He is often referred to by his Saints name ‘Froilán’ who’s the patron saint of Lugo. His godfather is King Juan Carlos I of Spain and his godmother was the late Dowager Countess of Ripalda. He was the first born grandchild and eldest grandson of the then Spanish Monarch King Juan Carlos I.

His father, Don Jaime de Marichalar is the fourth son of the late Count & Countess of Ripalda. Don Felipe also has a younger sister, Doña Victoria Federica de Marichalar who was born in September 2000. In July, he accompanied his mother, Infanta Elena to the Proclamation Ceremony of his uncle, King Felipe VI of Spain.
