This recent maxi dress is the only outfit which flatters her figure going back to her son’s birthday, however, the color is not for her. Who is helping her or not helping with her clothes? Her hair is almost always beautifully styled, I loved the hairdo from the birthday but then paired with what looked like a sweatshirt! She appears to have slimmed down which helps all the outfits overall on her small frame.
The baby is beyond cute

The existing or non existing stylist for Stephanie,is a long discussion, since almost the beginning of her marriage. For me she does not have one. If she doesn't, it is fine. Older royalty did not have stylist, the just had dressmaker.
If she does, she should change.

What baffles me about Stephanie is that she has fashion moments that are sheer inspiration, like her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival a few years ago in that white Calvin Klein sheath and rubies. Who advised her there? Everyone was dazzled.

Then of course there was her wedding day, with fashion commentators around the globe going into raptures about how stunning a bride she was. Stephanie was one of the Top Three Royal brides of the last 20 years imo.

I understand if she has no interest or understanding about the importance of style. But for better or worse she has married into a situation where she is going to be judged more and more harshly the closer Guillaume gets to the Throne.

Her flawless pedigree, impressive educational CV, talents as a musician and linguist, even her cherubic baby son will not matter so much as a careless hairstyle and frumpy dress style to the public who read about Royalty in the pages of Hello and PdV.

It's sad but true. I say this as someone who has always liked Stephanie from day one.

How sad to think there might be a substantial number of her countrymen and women who would think, oh, she’s got great character and family background, she’s talented and well-educated, a great mother, an adored wife...but unless she smartens up her hairstyle and wardrobe, well, I’m going to ignore and dislike her.

I don’t believe it.

:previous: I didn't say anything about Stephanie's countrymen.I said the readers of royalty magazines, whose editors feature women like Letizia and Mary and Kate because those are the women their readers like to read about.

And at least part of the reason is that they are well dressed and stylish. How often is the cultured, refined and highly intelligent Stephanie of Luxembourg on any magazine covers compared to her counterparts? She is, for the most part passed over.

I agree that it's unfortunate but that is the nature of the world we live in now.

Why should Stephanie care about magazine readers or website posters? I’m sure she never thinks of them/us. Her position is not that of beauty Queen nor fashion model: she’s similar to Camilla- a lady waiting for the top job, and supporting her husband in the meantime.

The good thing is, these other ladies aren't really HGD Stephanie's competition. She will be HRH The Grand Duchess with or without magazines and websites drooling after her. She will be the first lady of Lux, the way Letizia is the first lady in Spain and Mary will be this in Denmark. Stephanie won't be fired as GD if she isn't liked enough for her fashion style by people from all over the world. The only reason for concern is if her countrymen and women decide she isn't a good representative figure because of her style but this far, they haven't, right?

Stephanie is a lovely woman with a beautiful child. Her wardrobe can be a bit hit and miss but I love that she is, first and foremost, herself, Stephanie, and Stephanie loves gorgeous amazing hair that is almost always, perfectly styled. She's not working on a size 0 and trying to frantically lose weight to satisfy the critics. Instead, she seems to be taking time for herself and raising a beautiful baby boy in a loving and stable family. She gets my vote!

:previous: She gets my vote too for being classy, dignified, incredibly brave, and a great wife and mother. She is my personal favorite of all this generation of young Royal women for those very reasons.

BUT...this is a fashion thread. Not a personality ,character, and background thread, areas where she is beyond reproach. Stephanie needs a stylist. She is young, with a great complexion, beautiful hair, and one of the best pair of legs in Royal Europe...not to mention access to a considerable fortune.

All the basics are there.

I have no dog in the Luxembourg game, and I only know a small bit about them.

But people judge on appearances, multiplied infinitely when you are famous.

People also respond more quickly and favorably when someone is stylish and attractive (followed by pleasant and charming. After that they may start to care about accomplishments and background). That's just the way the world works.

HGD Stephanie is hardly the only royal whose wardrobe has been complained about on this forum, methinks.

Yes, it is a fashion thread, but to suggest that Stephanie’s good qualities

‘will not matter so much as a careless hairstyle or a frumpy dress style to the public who read about Royalty in magazines like Hello and PdV.’

seems to give a bit too much respect to the opinions of those readers.

I know Stephanie’s wardrobe can be hit and miss.

But her hair is beautifully styled, pretty much always imo. She might, over all, be my favorite in terms of styling.

Not a great picture, but this could be a nice dress for Stephanie.

That's so different from her usual style but looks quite nice on her. I wish the hat is in pale yellow like the edges of the neckline and sleeves or soft pink/peach like the flower though.

I like both looks overall. The square crown on hat seems a tad big. The evening dress reminds me of Paule Ka designs.

The day look is "ok" but I agree that it ages Stephanie.

On the other hand, the tangerine evening gown is AMAZING and looks so beautiful against Stephanie's summer holidays tan. She and Guillaume are as radiant as the bridal couple!?

Stephanie look absolutely gorgeous in that orange dress ?

I want to like the day dress….but I just can’t quite like it. Not sure why.

The tangerine dress is just lovely though. Suits her very well.

The evening gown is so flattering and the colour is really lovely , I wish that she would choose more classic straight lines that maximise her best features it's a shame she has to look so frumpy all the. time when here ... wow gorgeous

It is 16 months after Charles' birth and she seems to have completely bounced back to pre-pregnancy form. She resisted the trend by new mothers in the spotlight these days to get as skinny as possible within a few weeks after childbirth....despite the snide remarks on social media.

She took her time and concentrated on her new baby, which I admire her a lot for.;)

That tangerine sheath is so flattering. Her clutch is by Valentino and j'adore!

Lovely colors on the HGD. She looks lovely in brighter colors and these are fabulous. The cut of the pants are amazing on her and the style of the shirt is very nice as well. Love to see more of this type of style. Sophisticated yet easy.
