I see that Princess Beatrix has not been followed in this thread for a long time. She still has public appearances and always is every inch a royal lady, in contrary to her daughter-in-law Máxima who sometimes "forgets" she is the Queen, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week...

That's a lovely idea to update Beatrix's thread, thanks a lot for applying that much effort! :flowers:

Princess Beatrix always looks wonderful and elegant, after all those years and fashion experiences now perfect from head to toe :)

I had the same question when I was looking for the thread to put yesterday's appearance the last post from 2013. Good work :)

This were only a lot (but not all) of the public appearances of the Princess in 2015. It is clear that she still has a busy agenda, especially for opera, ballet, theatre, exhibitions and other expressions of arts. That is her form of retirement, so to see: doing the things she likes.

Firstly, many thanks for updating this thread - it was a treat to see these outfits altogether and I have missed his thread!

I agree, it is very clear that Beatrix is enjoying a fulfilling retirement with a great mix of engagements in her agenda and a chance to delight with her exceptional and unusual sense of dress.

When she retired, I wondered if her style would change in any way and it's nice that she continues in her normal way!

Very strange that choice from the Princess!! Different but i don't like it!

.

Beatrix has worn that dress before during the state visit to Qatar in 2011, in my eyes it was a better choice back then, more suitable as it's a oriental look..

** 2011 **

And here's today's daytime outfit:

** Pic **

The patterned fabric on the evening dress is beautiful but I'm not so keen on the chiffon material - it's quite light against the heavier fabric and gives it a less structured look, which Beatrix is usually renowned for.

The day-time outfit is stunning and reminds be of an evening gown that Maxima wore (the red and gold Jan Taminiau one)

Her Daytime outfit was very much a classic signature look of Beatrix,I have mixed feelings on her evening outfit.

On tv and in movement the evening dress looked suprisingly rich. On pictures it looks likr table-cloths or curtains. Typically beatrixian, I woulf say.

I'm not a fan of Beatrix's gown tonight, but it suits her well. I really love her tiara here however.

Her gown is certainly different but it is beautiful, and certainly looks like a masterpiece of craftsmanship.

The gown "falls dead" in pictures but actually is quite a sparkling one.

On this photo you can see glitters, when you focus close to Princess Beatrix' feet (logically, the dress was making the most movement there when the photo was captured). See picture. (Click twice to blow XL).

Considering Rembrandt himself, who they are there for an opening of, was Protestant, it is quite unique. It is meant to show the growing cooperation between Protestant and Catholics on the 500th anniversary of the reformation. Bea's nephew Jamie who is ambassador to the Holy See and the Swedish embassador helped arrange some of the exhibit, why the two queens are there, though Silvia is officially opening it.

Looking Elegant :flowers:

Not a fan of her hats. But like Elizabeth and her hats, I have come to accept if not embrace them as just part of who they are. :ROFLMAO:

I'm not a fan of Beatrix's outfit she wore to the Vatican, but it's very 'her' so she looks good in it.

Her second outfit is elegant but it reminds me more of a mourning or funeral outfit; I too was surprised to see her wear black for an everyday engagement.
