Oh, I love that photo too. Sometimes you see photos of royals just shaking hands or waving at the adoring crowd from a distance, and I don't always like that. It's nice that Victoria can spend time hugging and engaging with the 'normal' people, even though she doesn't have to.

I recall Elena saying a few weeks ago on a greek tv show that she was looking forward to that event and felt really happy to be invited to sing for CP Victoria. She also said that she considers princess Madeleine as one of the most beautiful women she has ever seen.

I know this question has been asked before, but there was no real answer.

I don't think anyone really knows the answer, we would have to ask the royals themself in order to get an answer.

On Victoria's birthday they (Victoria & Silvia) wear the Öland costume, the Swedish national costume is worn on the National Day.

My theory on why only the two of them and not Madeleine wears the Öland costume on this day, is that it's because Victoria is the main character on her birthday, the celebrations are in her honour - and Silvia is the country's Queen/first lady, so she also wears it to distinct herself.

On the National Day, Princess Madeleine also wear the national costume, along with the Queen and Crown Princess.

No Chameleon, the Royal males never wear traditional costumes but Prince Carl philip did as a small boy.

I find it very hard to read the large colored fonts and usually just skip over those posts. Is it perhaps only my aging eyes but I find normal size black font more readable.

A good question mixer2002de! I remember some discussion a few weeks back of Daniel's presence at Victoria's birthday this year and that such an appearance by Daniel would make his and Victoria's relationship somehow more official.

So any sign of Daniel in attendance at Victoria's birthday? I don't expect that he was sitting in the front row with the royal family, but say at least teh second row? Or is he still worried or working on his tax problems?

Daniel was not present at the official celebrations of Victoria's birthday. It is only the press who have speculated about this for such a long time now, but I personally find it rather rediculous - I don't think the Royal Family would even consider breaking Court protocol for this. When/if they are engaged, then it's another matter.

Daniel was of course present at the private celebrations in the evening at Solliden, as he is at Öland right now, holidaying with Victoria and the Royal Family.
