Will Queen Fabiola survive besides Paola?

Why would she not survive? She has another role now, as Queen Paola is the Queen of the Belgians now. But she survives in that role besides Paola already 15 years .
As long as she stays in a rather good health and appears in public from time to time, I think she will survive besides Paola.

Queen Fabiola has undergone a minor surgery at a hospital in Liège. The Palace has not given any further information, but the Queen has already left the hospital, so it probably was really minor. Unsupported sources say it might have been something to do with her thyroid gland.

Today several newspapers announced Queen Fabiola has undergone surgery at the University Hospital of Liège, Belgium, while she was under the influence of hypnosis, in stead of normal anaestetics.

Queen Fabiola is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen, not only because she has a beautiful face but there is also something about her that makes me think of her as an extremely gracious, intelligent and kind person. She has become very skinny the last years though, but she will always remain beautiful.

I think so too. She seems to be a genuinely kind person.

From our blog:

Today Queen Fabiola of the Belgians performed her first official duty since her stay in hospital earlier this year. The 80 year old queen was admitted to the hospital on January 17th due to a pneumonia. She left the St. John’s hospital in Brussels on February 20th.

The queen attended a concert of the annual queen Elisabeth concours, at the conservatorium in Brussels. The queen received a warm applause when she entered her loge. Fabiola was escorted by her niece, princess Margaretha of Liechtenstein, the second daughter of the late grand duchess Josephine-Charlotte of Luxembourg.

I am so happy to see her out and about! I hope that we continue to see more of her; I was really worried about her when she was in the hospital.

When I saw HM on this clip I want just go to her and give her huge kiss and cuddle up her:flowers::flowers:

I am so pleased to see Queen Fabiola well and out again after her bout with pneumonia! I offer my prayers and wishes for HM's continued good health.

And also today ahe was accompanied by Princess Margaretha vuz Liechtenstein...They seem to be very close...

She looks pretty well, too, considering that long illness. And as often in royal blue...

She and Margaretha are very close, Margaretha is one of her nieces, they often do things together.

Yes, Fabiola is the one who took care of her after she lost her first baby. :flowers:

She personally nursed Princess Margaretha of Liechtenstein after the Princess's first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage.

(Although I don't think it was actually a miscarriage, I think a living child was born very early and died within 24 hours.)

I am so surprised and sad with this... After what happened to The Netherlands, I pray for the royals

Sadly, the stillbirth of baby Prince Leopold was Margaretha's SECOND tragedy...her first pregnancy was a miscarriage.

I read this in Queen Fabiola's biography "La Reine Blance" by Guy Michelland.

Okay, thanks. :flowers: So that's why I'm confused - she had both a miscarriage and a stillbirth. That's so sad!:ermm:

Hi Maura, actually I made a mistake...Prince Leo was born alive and died two days later. Poor baby. He is buried in Brussels in the Royal Crypt, I believe.

Prince Leopold Emmanuel died the same day of his birth, on 20 may 1984.

Thanks MAfan for clearing that up for us!:flowers:

But sooo soo sad.....:nonono:

By the way, your English is PERFECT!

:previous: yes, this happens every year at the anniversary of his death, at special request of Queen Fabiola. The Queen is always there, and usually others of the family attend as well.

I hope that this year is no exception for Queen Fabiola. It was delightful to see her with the apple on National Day!

:previous:
Queen Fabiola did attend the mass, she was in a wheelchair, according to the Palace because of a severe fatigue.

LadyLeana,
Did you noticed how our beloved Queen Fabiola, sitting for the first time in a rolling chair, changed in 10 days.. It it the first time than I saw her so sad and so weak. She will leave Belgium for her big house in Motril/Spain called Astrida and I hope she will be better in september..
