King Willem-Alexander has invited President Trump for the commemoration of the Battle of the Schelde (the fiercely embattled river which gives access from the North Sea to the enormous Port of Antwerp, vital to the Allied Forces) . Part of the commemoration would be the handing over of the Stars and Stripes which waved on the first US vessel which landed at Utah Beach on D-Day.

It is not yet known if the White House has accepted the invitation.

King Willem-Alexander is attending the Bilderberg Conference. This year it is held in Montreux, Switzerland. The agenda and list of participants can be found here.

In previous years several royals were present, this time around it's only the king of the Netherlands (as grandson of the founder).
