I'm not wild about red for Ascot - I prefer pastels for summer days but she looks lovely in it. I don't like the earrings but I'm pleased she's wearing them because it shows she hasn't forgotten how young she is or that she has an arty, quirky side to her too. I really wouldn't like to see all her individuality become submersed in what's traditional or expected. She often wears the same style clothes as I do (occasionally the exact same dress!) and yet I'm her mother's generation. I love it when she breaks out of that middle-aged/older style!

Catherine's pretty red dress reminds me of the red outfit she wore on June 3rd of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.

I love the red outfit. She's looking so great these days.

She wears the outfit elegantly(of course) but I don't like red at Ascot.

It seems glaring against the soft summer pastels of the other Royal ladies.

It looks great but red for Ascot seems odd to me. Love the earrings, it's the highlight for the outfit.

Red is a good color for Catherine, but I agree with others that the earrings don't work with her outfit.

I agree in that on a very hot and sunny day like Friday, my own preference would have been for more muted colours.

:previous: I love her earrings yet, worn with this ensemble they just looked tacky and cheap when that is actually not the case, but it just looks like a clanger. Her red ensemble is gorgeous, but I believe Catherine is on a mission to establish herself as Princess of Wales in her own right thus the red ensemble which hits you in the face like a bucket of cold water. To me it just screamed "I'm here! Look at me!

Not a "good" look.

A really lovely polka dot dress on the Princess of Wales ,it seems she has a fondness for them!

Oh not that fugly AR dress again......shall be grateful that at least it's not that horrible yellow print one.....

Catherine looks lovely, very cool and appropriate for summer.

Nothing fugly about this dress to my eyes. It’s classic Kate wear which I appreciate is not to everyone’s liking.

Classic Kate as in stole something from her mother's wardrobe she wore in the 80s and never threw out.....or it looks like it.

Those hiddeous shoulder pad inspired shoulders.

:previous:
I never really care for Beulah dresses; the proportions always seem off somehow.

Really lovely again today and a nice soft shade of pink, perfect for summer!

Very pretty colour, but I’m not over keen on the style. (..)

Gorgeous as always!

I have an odd question : why is the picture illustrating the Princess of Wales is one of the Duchess of Sussex ? It’s weird ! Sorry don’t want to offend anybody.
