Well there were issues with Pippa's writing because she no longer writes for them or indeed The Waitrose in-house magazine. I believe she was quietly dropped due to not going down that well with the general public.

Pippa writes for Waitrose Weekend. Her column for August was just published. It's titled Swim and You're Winning.

I don't think Waitrose plans to dump her anytime soon. Last year for the Waitrose Summer Party, Mark Price - the company's managing director, stayed glued to her side the whole time. Also last year, he along with other executives personally escorted Pippa to Bordeaux for wine tasting. I think they're much more committed to her than The Telegraph ever was. The Telegraph treated her like a gimmick - easy come, easy go.

The reason why we haven't seen Pippa at the 2015 Waitrose Summer Party like we have the previous two years, is that this year it's being held in October for some crazy reason. In 2013 and 2014 it was held in May. Perhaps they should change the name of their party as they never actually have it in the Summer.

I don't know a lot about financial reports etc but it seems to me that a business that started in late 2013 with a seed fund of 1 mill and uses 1/4 of it during the initial start up period is doing well. He still has to get the business up off the ground during that time and pay back the funding. From the photos, it would appear he had to get a factory (but he may be using the same factory as the cake business - he still would need to retro-fit the production line for the new product), do the advertising etc. He likely has a business plan that doesn't expect a profit for several years. Good old DM - half truths and misleading stories. He used 250K during start up - that means he still has 750K in the bank, not that he lost money.

Its been a very long time since I've even thought of small or new businesses but from what I do remember with starting up a small business, it was stated that usually it may take up to 5 years before turning a profit. In most cases (unless the business skyrockets big time), it takes that long to establish and bring in a solid customer base.

:previous: I agree about the whole "it takes time to build success" theory. They say to have a 3-5 year stake to use, becasue it may take that long to build a sustaining profit.

That said, printed marshmallows seem like a trendy idea that will either catch fire or not and that in the near term. I wish them all the best, because failure would be a drag for all concerned.

Well.... should the printed marshmallows catch fire, they can always make personalized s'mores with them.

I wish it all the best too.

Allegedly they don't taste very nice but I don't know that from personal experience. I would not pay that price for marshmallows and I love marshmallows.

I have to agree with you on purchasing that kind of thing. If I'm going to be spending money to personalize something, its going to be something that will keep for a long time and definitely not something edible.

S'mores are fantastic if made right. Usually by a campfire. Graham crackers, a bit of a chocolate bar and a roasted over the campfire marshmallow sandwich kind of thing. Legend has it that s'mores got their start in the Girl Scouts

stop Osipi, stop. I am trying to be good and you are tempting me. Hot chocolate, fresh cream and marshmallows on a cold night, yum.

I can see them being used for a wedding or marketing for a company with a pouch of hot chocolate. Something like that.

You a get a cake with a photo printed on it in a lot of the grocery store bakeries here in the U.S.

I still would not pay that money Skippyboo! Yep we have the photo onto cake thing in England as well. It doesn't appeal to me but that is me.

The individual isn't their target. People spend a lot of money on weddings, special occasion parties. Companies spend a lot of promo items.

Well, some people spend literally thousands on wedding cakes which are consumed and hundreds on other cakes. Then there is/was the whole cupcake fad. Hard to say whether there would be a market for customized marshmallows. I wouldn't be buying a set personally as I'm not a marshmallow fan, so I'm obviously not his target market :)

I wanted to have cupcakes shaped as a wedding cake for my wedding, but got shot down, because my mother knew someone who was willing to bake a cake for a reasonable price. Cupcakes appealed to me because it would be easier to serve. No cutting, and people could pick which one they wanted. Anyhow, not sure how I feel about seeing my picture on anything edible, but 'creeped out' comes pretty close. However, that's the big thing now, so James' business will probably see some profits. The price is a bit much, especially for a marshmallow (with, or without a picture), but I guess if you were buying the vegan version, you'd paying a similar amount.

I bake the actual fruit cake for friends and they take it and get it iced professionally. Again it is a Delia Smith recipe.

Royal reporter Emily Nash is tweeting that photos of the Duchess of Cambridge's family - on holiday - are being published.

Describing the photos as "stunning", it sounds as though they've been somewhere, well, stunning.

On vacation? In Mustique, perhaps?

Photos now online - Pippa super-toned in her red bikini.

It's St Barths Marty91charmed - they stayed at the Eden Rock.

And yes Honeybees - I don't think they could be anything but pap/general public mobile phone photos.

(On my tablet, can't link - photos will be everywhere soon though no doubt.)

Pippa, James, Donna, Carole and possibly Mike are on holiday at St. Barths. They are staying at the resort Eden Rock which is owned by their friends the Matthews family. Next week, Pippa and James will be competing in Sweden at an athletic endurance challenge on behalf of the Michael Matthews Foundation. I imagine this holiday is a "thank you" from the Matthews family.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had a similar stay last year considering Pippa and James rode their bikes across America for the Michael Matthews Team.

All of the info you can easily Google. I have no "inside info".

1. We know Pippa, James and Carole were on the trip due to pap pictures. We can presume Donna is on the trip because of her IG posts. Mike remains a question mark.

2. It is publicly known that the Matthews own Eden Rock. They also own a resort in the Scottish Highlands.

3. The Swedish endurance challenge has been reported by the British media in the last 24 hours. You'll find it under the tacky headlines talking about Pippa spending her birthday in Sweden.

4. Check any of the articles last year detailing the bike ride across America. It was on behalf of the Michael Matthews foundation in conjunction with the British Heart Foundation.

Could we please try to remain on topic. Private conversations should be conducted by Private Message and not within the thread.

The "Daily Mail/Mail Online" now has some of the St Barths photos - all very action-packed, and Pippa a bit ganged up on by the look of things.

Lots of fun being had.

I can't wait to hear about Richard Kay's next column.
"The invisible sister/daughter: Why didn't Catherine attend the family vacation? Is she estranged from the Middletons? Will Mike and Carole ever see their grandchildren again!?!?"

The Duchess of Cambridge: Family, Wealth and Background

Is the revenge of Charles as payback for Carole keeping George away from him? as he vows to cut off Princess Kate's cork wedges and Breton striped tops fund if she is seen with family- coming soon to the Daily Mail. ?

Will never happen. He can't put Diana into it.

He can always wedge Diana in there.

Let's see... Well, clearly the problems between the Cambridges and Middletons are caused because Carole is trying too hard to mother William, disrespecting the memory of Diana.

Never underestimate Richard Kay!

He can talk about how Catherine is estranged from the Middletons just like Diana was with the Spencers. Then he can add a jab about how a postpartum Catherine wouldn't want to be seen in a bikini. Then add some mock-concern that she could develop bulimia like Diana.

I can already hear the pitter-patter of his computer keyboard.

Next Charlotte Griffiths - who often contradicts the other Mail writers - will say Catherine was indeed on the vacation. She was just hiding in the sand dunes to give the paparazzi a taste of their own medicine.

And to even remember the notion that I found TRF looking for outrageous hats.

Years later... not many idiotic looking hats in sight but a good source of finding good friends and good humor. Rumors still abound.
