Today, October 14, Queen Mathilde did her fifth walk, this time in Namur and Assesse, accompanied by representatives of 3 associations - The Saint-Martin-Dave Neuropsychiatric Centre, the Carpe Diem de Jambes centre and the provincial service for mental health:

The 6th walk for Queen Mathilde today, October 17, this time through the Province of Hainaut with three local organizations La Porte Ouverte, a shelter for young people with psychological problems, La Pommeraie, a sheltered workshop and residence for people with disabilities and L'Arc-en-ciel, a primary school and boarding school for special education.

Queen Mathilde received Dr. Hélène Brasseur today, December 22. Dr. Hélène Brasseur is "a doctor from Charleroi who moved to Seoul 50 years ago to provide care in the slums. Dr. Brasseur now runs a small hospital and palliative care center in the South Korean capital":

On May 30 Queen Mathilde will be honored with an Honorary Doctorate of the Hasselt University. Both Queen Mathilde and the university are turning 50 this year and Principal Bernard Vanheusden explained that the decision was made in order "to honor her strong role in addressing pertinent problems in our society. Whether it concerns upbringing and education, child poverty, mental health or the position of women here and in the Global South. In her public role, Queen Mathilde always shows the gift of finding the right words and with her commitment she makes the difference in a world confronted with diverse issues":

New: From February 6th to 8th, Queen Mathilde will pay a working visit to Bangladesh in her capacity as UN Advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
 
Queen Mathilde is welcomed by Bangladesh's Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and Belgian ambassador to Bangladesh Didier Verhasselt at the arrival of the Queen at Dhaka Airport, Bangladesh, today 6 February .
The Queen is on a three day humanitarian mission to Bangladesh in her capacity as advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations (UN).
