Thank you for the clips and pics.
Eventhough it may not appear so, it's actually a very formal affair.
The DRF arrive in the reverse order of rank. Benedikte, Joachim, Frederik, QMII.
Due to the status of the DRF they are recieved at the bottom of the stairs, by the Chairman of the Parliament, Thor Pedersen.
He holds the most distinguished position a Danish citizen can have, outside of marrying into the DRF.
After him are other members of the Bureau of the Parliament, who acts at second chairman, third and so on.
They also greet the members of the DRF, as they walk up to the first landing, or whatever you call it of the stairs. In order of precedence naturally.
After all the member of the DRF have been gathered at the landing, they are now escorted up the remaining part of the stair into the Parliament.
That also follow a strict protocol. The Chairman, Thor Pedersen (Liberal), himself escort QMII.
The second chairman, Mogens Lykketoft (Social Democrat), escort Henrik.
The third chairman, Søren Espersen (Danish People's Party), escort Frederik.
The fourth, Holger K. Nielsen (Socialist People's Party), escort Mary.
The fifth, Helge Adam Møller (The Conservative), escort Joachim.
I don't know who escort Marie and Benedikte, but they are not members of the Board.
A neat and actually sweet little detail is that Joachim, as so many times before, allow himself to dispense with the protocol and be a gentleman thus letting our Marie exit the car at the red carpet, so she hasn't have to walk all around the car.
Frederik is the Crown Prince, so Mary has to do the walking.
And isn't it nice to see, once again, that Frederik's arms are long enough for him to reach his pockets?
