Great News that this finally has made public. So a similar Programm then at the ruby Jubilee in 2012. Lets hope that Covid doesn't put a stop to the bill as we say in german.

Look forward to the celebrations.

I do hope C&C represent the UK at these celebrations.

Let's see who's invited. For the 40th jubilee only family and the Scandinavians were invited.

I'm guessing, if possible, the guestlist will reflect the fact that she had to cancel her grand 80th birthday celebration (as will the rest of the celebrations, really – I don't know if there's an official record for turnout for balcony appearances on Amalienborg but if there is, I think there's a good chance it will be broken on 15 January 2022).

I agree, but 1) this is the 50th rather than the 40th and 2) the 40th was 18 months after her large 70th birthday celebrations to which most of the royal houses were invited, and because of COVID, her 80h birthday celebrations were largely cancelled.

True, but also for her 25. Jubilee only Heads of State and royals from the scandinavian Countries were invited. The swedish royals had however to cancel because of the death of Prince Bertil just a few days before.

Fair point, let’s see who all actually attends.

I hope it will be big celebrations and that they will be invited by all European royal families.

What a nice note to start 2022 with! I still can't imagine HM as a lady headed towards her Golden Jubilee. Perhaps because she's so vivacious, I always think of her as much younger.

Looking forward to the Danish Golden Jubilee next year and wonderful news!

50 years is a momentous milestone! By this point Her Majesty is the only monarch whom the majority of her subjects have ever known. I hope the Jubilee will be properly commemorated with retrospectives, biographies, etc.

An explanation of the official jubilee logo from Kontrapunkt, the firm which designed it.

Christian V’s crown, from 1671, is found at the top of the logo. Kontrapunkt has redesigned the visual form of the well-known crown, making it more transparent and legible.

[...]

The typeface accompanying the crown is vibrant, drawing from details of the acanthus leaf and elegance from the rococo style found in the architecture at both Amalienborg and Fredensborg Palace.

It almost looks like a painted typeface with strokes, similar to lines created by a paintbrush – a respectful nod to the Queen’s artistic work. The Queen is a versatile artist in costume designs, scenography, illustrations and paintings. Consequently, the logo embraces colours often seen in the Queen’s art and personal style. The colours also emphasize the logo as one marking a national celebration.

I'm thrilled for Her Majesty and sincerely hope there are no volcanoes or recurrent plagues and the festivities are festive this time.

Less thrilled with the logo. I'm afraid all it seems to evoke for me is 1972.

" Tuesday, the memoir "Undervejs - Erindringer 1940-1972" will be published, where Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of her upcoming 50th anniversary tells about her childhood and youth until the accession to the throne in January 1972"

One of them, the book based on the DRF Christmas Calendar last year has already been sold in large numbers, based on advanced orders to the publisher.

Two of the other three books appears to be a must-read IMO. If you have any particular interest in QMII.
The last book I don't know yet.

:previous: God, that sounds awful. He's so insufferable. Can only be a TV2 production.

Is the Golden Carriage the coach which will be used?

Perhaps. We shall see.

The carriage will have to be heated is this will take place in late winter and QMII isn't a spring-chicken anymore.

If it's decided M&F will accompany her, which is not unlikely, it will also have to be large enough to seat at least three persons. - Four if Christian rides along.

Are there not 2 carriage rides planned. Onr for the Theater Event and one 2 the 'Town Hall.

So perhaps they will use both of them. And for the New Years Court HM is also using the Golden Coach

It would be marvelous if Prince Christian rides along for it would be three direct generations of present and future sovereigns.

Lovely photograph. I take it, it was taken along with the other pictures for her 80th birthday.

Appears to be. So it is about a couple years old then.

And here is the photo in high res: https://www.kongehuset.dk/sites/default/files/5ds_9202bbb_copy-kopi.jpg

Great snapshot-photo. But a somewhat weird angle I think.
Presumably an attempt to do something new.

Looking down on QMII means that the photo, so to speak, defeats the regal expression, her dress jewellery and position otherwise convey.
She has a slight Mona Lise smile here.

Well, she is "Woman with The Very Large Pearl Earring" (and the rest of the parure).

I think it's pretty good. It's intimate and unusual, which is her. But the bit of distance remains, which is also her. And in the meantime, look at her fabulous jewelry!! = very :flowers:

(PS, the hi-res is really fun for looking at the jewelry.)
