Swedish Royal Couple Finish Estonian State Visit
King Carl XVI Gustav and Queen Silvia of Sweden finished their state visit to the republic of Estonia today. The royal couple visited the city of Tartu in the company of the president and the first lady. The day included a visit to the town hall, the university, Gustav II Adolf’s memorial and an official luncheon. A highlight may have been the visit to the NAtional museum. The president was able to present parts of the collection to the royals, as he was director of the museum between 2018 and 2021.
The Swedish royals visited the Baltic republic at the invitation of His Excellency President Alar Karis. The visited started on tuesday with the official welcome ceremony in the capital Talinn. The royal party stayed in Talinn for the first two days. At the state banquet on tuesday and the return dinner on wednesday the Queen wore the Ruby and Nine-prong tiara respectively.
