Swedish State Visit to Jordan: Day Two

The second day in Jordan, today Wednesday November 16, started with a separate agenda for King Carl XVI Gustav and Queen Silvia.
The King, accompanied by Crown Prince Al Hussein and Prince Ali, was present at the official opening of a seminar entitled: “Building a Partnership for the Future – A Swedish-Jordanian Trade and Investment Forum”. The seminar was focused on the increasing of the trade and investment opportunities between Sweden and Jordan.
In the meantime Queen Silvia, along with paid a visit to the Al Hussein Society, a non-governmental governmental organization established in 1971 “that provides rehabilitation and educational services to persons with physical challenges”.
The King and Queen were reunited to visit the King Hussein Cancer Center, one of the most important medical center in the Middle East for the treatment of cancer that was founded in 1979 by the late King Hussein.
Afterwards King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia paid a visit to the ancient city As-Salt, in west-central Jordan. The Royal Couple toured through the local Al-Hammam market and the old town and then visited the Abu Jaber House that, since 2010, houses the Historic Old Sal Museum, “which recounts the history of the city in its Golden Age”. In 2021 As-Salt was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In the evening the King and Queen hosted a reception for the Jordanian Royals.
