Duke of Sussex visits YMCA Ealing

The Duke of Sussex visited the YMCA centre in Ealing, London on April 5, to participate in a discussion with representatives from Stonewall, The Mix, Safe Lives, Mermaids and Young Minds.

At the event, Harry stated that “social media is more addictive than drugs and alcohol. Yes it is more dangerous because it is normalised and there are no restrictions. So we are in a really mind-altering time”, and also called for the video game Fortnite to be banned in the UK, which sparked a controversy online as the visit was made a day after he and Meghan launched a joint Instagram account, @SussexRoyal, which already has over 3 million followers.

YMCA provides housing for 150 young people in Ealing who are dealing with issues such as homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse and domestic violence.

The Duke also spoke with young people who were staying at YMCA or who were being supported through YMCA based networks.
