The Dog-Lover Duchess Visits Small Animals Hospital
She is well-known as a keen dog-lover so it made perfect sense the Duchess of Cornwall was all beaming smiles as she attended the 30th anniversary celebrations of the Queen Mother Hospital for Small Animals in Hatfield today.
Camilla – wearing a favourite purple and green tartan skirt and jacket – was given a tour of the Hospital to see how funds provided by the Royal Veterinary College Animal Care Trust, of which she is patron, help to support the Hospital’s state of the art animal care units. It is one of the largest in Europe.
The Duchess was called upon to cut the celebratory cake (producing another funny snap for the ‘Camilla with Weapons’ photo album) before spending time meeting staff and the Hospital’s furry patients.
One little furball named Kingy seemed to quite like the Duchess’s outfit, as he was quick to crawl under her hanging skirt when she knelt down to give him a pat. An unfussed Camilla burst into fits of laughter as Kingy crawled back out from the fabric, eager to continue on his way around the room.
