Some information about the crew:

The Yacht is owned by the King privately, and not the state. - But a Royal Decree from 1947 stipulates that the ship shall be manned, operated and maintained by the Norwegian armed forces.

During the summer season the ship has a crew of 53, comprising 17 officers and 36 conscripts, which is reduced to a minimum of approximately 20 in the winter. The crew’s main tasks consist of watch duty and maintenance. - And in February each year a group of new recruits reports for duty to begin theoretical and practical training for the coming season.

Here is an article from Oskar Aanmoen about the disembarking of the Royal Yacht on Friday: King Harald and Queen Sonja conclude season for The Norwegian Royal Yacht – Royal Central

During Friday’s ceremony, the King inspected this year’s crew. He also examined the ship and made sure everything was as it should before having a short chat with the captain and another military commander on board the boat. The King then announced with his official approval that everything was as it should be and that the royal ship is officially ready to spend the winter at the dock before next season which will begin mid-May 2019.

As some may know (since I've written about it in this post), after a constitutional amendment of May 21st, 2012, the Church of Norway is self-governed with regard to doctrinal issues and appointment of clergy - and the monarch is no longer its head.
And in 2016, the King in Council approved an act that created the Church of Norway as an independent legal entity (which separated it from the state), effective from January 1st, 2017.

However, the King has still chosen to be present during consecrations of bishops.

The first Norwegian pupils arrived at the Lycée Pierre Corneille upper secondary school in the heart of Rouen, Normandy, in 1918. Today Her Majesty The Queen took part in the celebration of a century of learning.

Educational cooperation and the establishment of a Norwegian section at the school were part of a peace-building measure at the end of World War I. The idea was for young people to meet and get to know each other in a congenial environment.

At this year's Northern Future Forum, Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg had invited the prime ministers of the Nordic and Baltic countries and the UK to Oslo ''to discuss the role of technology in health services in the future,'' and some of them were present during the luncheon at the palace as well.

The Queen Sonja Print Award is the world’s leading award for graphic art, and is presented every second year. The Award was originally a Nordic prize with the first awards given to Tiina Kivinen, Finland in 2012 and Svend-Allan Sørensen, Denmark in 2014. In 2016 the prize became international and was awarded to Tauba Auerbach, USA.

The winner receives a cash prize of NOK 400,000 and a residency at the Atelje Larsen art studio in Helsingborg, Sweden. The award seeks to generate interest in and promote the development of graphic art.

The artist Emma Nishimura was born in 1982 and lives and works in Toronto, Canada. Her work includes both traditional etching, drawings and art installations. The Queen was on fine form today as she met up with the King of Norway, the morning after he attended her party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate Prince Charles’ 70th birthday.

The pair greeted each other warmly at the The Naval and Military Club in St James’s, London, with King Harald V kissing her on each cheek and then on the hand.

He said: ‘Thank you for a nice party yesterday ’. ‘I’m so glad,’ replied the Queen enthusiastically, and the pair chatted warmly about the previous night’s events.

The Queen was heard to say how much ‘Charles had enjoyed himself’.

‘He looked like it,’ the king replied.

His wife, Queen Sonja, who was also at the bash, had been due to accompany her husband to this morning’s engagement.

Upon departure, Her Majesty had a short meeting with the press. Royal Central’s Senior Europe Correspondent Oskar Aanmoen was present and asked Her Majesty a question. Aanmoen asked: What does the queen think has been the best with the visit today?

Her Majesty answered:”That is a lot. It would be a long story. However, I think it is to see all the activities that were shown in the sports hall. It is so varied and so funny.
