The little ruffles at the bottom of the dress was really cute, I liked how the top part was pretty fitted.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't these pictures taken last year?

You are not wrong. It was worn June 26, 2008, according to what is printed on the photos.

I remember seeing these photos. This is one of the nicest dresses that Marie has worn. The style is so cute on her petite frame. I love the color. I hope that she considers recycling this look.

I love the bag that she carried to the Grand Prix.

The oversized croco bag was a great piece! We all need such bags:useful and beautiful at the same time.

Thank you, Dazzling! Did you say that you saw it in the store? Is it cashmere? Was it nice in person?

Though the dress was from the last year collection. It suits Princess Marie ideally!:):previous:

Not sure if it was 100% cashmere but it was kind of thick fabric. I would say cashmere with cotton or wool with cotton. It was really pretty but the blue was too paste IMO

I like her hair and the top, but I'm not wild about the pants. I don't think they are very flattering.

I love the hairstyle, it really looks good on her, I also like the fringe. The pants are too shiney IMo, the top looks like a Dior look-a-like piece. I really like the bolero.
Was this a day event? I find it too much black if it was.

Im not completely sure, Dazzling, but I believe this was evening. There are some photos where it looks like the sun is setting. I also like the fringe. It flatters her face. The makeup was a bit heavy for my taste.

Hardly fitting for a Princess, imho. I little too much cleavage, a little too much black, .....much too sexy-looking for a daytime event (or Any event, for that matter.) I am sorry but I find this offensive for a royal, if indeed it was during the day. I do not find it elegant or regal, in any event.

I've gone through the photos at MSN, and it was an evening event. This helps to explain the make-up, IMO.

This is some regrettably vulgar look.
An evening appointment doesn't require gothic eye make up, dark purple (or black?) nail polish, too much cleavage, unflattering shiny pants and a fussy, glittering bolero that wouldn't have looked out of place on a 1980s pop starlet.
I don't like the fringe either - it puts too much emphasis on Marie's chin, which is not exactly petite.
IMHO it's a very bad outfit for anyone, and especially for a Royal.

Overall I am not keen on this look, the way the fringe is worn reminds of something the lead singer in a rock band might have (one of my work colleagues actually sings in a rock band and he has the same style of fringe) not a nice look.
Also the bolero does not match the rest of the outfit.

The only part I liked was the hairdo.
I neither like her dark make-up nor her dark outfit.
The pants are just horrible. Don't like the shoes and top either.
I agree that this isn't a good look for a Royal at all.

Looking through all the photos, I am inclined to fully share your opinion. Too much cleavage is not a bit surprising because it tends to be Princess Marie's signature. In addition to the above, Princess Marie looked very overtanned to me.

I couldn't agree more! The neckline is much too revealing, almost as usual, tacky nailpolish, shiny disco pants and a bolero straight from 80's Dynasty :argh: That's one unsuitable outfit for a royal.

Ok,let me just say that she could have done better.I'll be waiting for her next appearance.

I must say that I really like this look. Pants are too shiny but rest of the outfit is very nice. Hairstyle is fantastic and heavy make-up looks good on Princess. Marie's individual style is very ok IMO.

Hot or not? Prinsesse Maries nye frisure - MSN Starlounge

Well it's certainly a dramatic new look, to say the least. I love the hair, the make-ups a little too much. The trousers are nice, but the top is a little too revealing for Marie. :)

It must have been a very casual event for Marie to dress like that - all in black. There is nothing special about the outfit that would indicate she is a princess - she simply looks like a run of the mill girl out at the pub. Usually I think she looks very princess like, but not on this occassion!

Well I agree that the pants were OTT, but the blouse/lacey jacket was nice.

I like the look that Marie went for. It's different and fresh.

The problem here, as I see it, is the "other's" are Not royal princesses. Marie is... and should dress accordingly. Perhaps more importantly, she is Expected to do so and in this case, missed.....

Marie is indeed a princess now but she is not expected to dress as if she was a crown princess (and im not comparing to Mary but in general) so she doesnt have to look always so stylish and so well put together, personally I do expect her to dress abit more normal than always very dressed up in suits or formal wear. She doesnt seem to know what suits her or what is appropriate to wear when going out in public (private wear/unformal outfits seem to be right/neat put together) looks like Marie doesnt have a stylist not someone who quite knows what she should wear so I dont blame her for her mistakes.

Another note, Marie might find what she is wearing great and others wont like it, its only a matter of taste. Marie and other princesses wont always please us :flowers:
