In general,i like her caftans but I always hated this one.
It's too long and I don't like the combination of colors.I also think that the flowers on the top part are too big

Thank´s Lilo. I never see before the second pic, Salma is beautiful.

Keep those Chanel jackets coming, please!!It's very beautiful and the combination of its colours is so uncommon. And I think the white trousers are the best match!

http://s5.tinypic.com/2u4my46.jpgI don't like her hair, and make-up, but she is well dressed here

this Teckheta is nice, this is a particular style, but not for her, she doesn't have the style to go with, she doesn't have the carure, the stature for this is a to "heavy" style for her
the most of the time she wears Caftan or Teckhcita wich seems to big for her....she should go toward lighter material , colors, or style

the teckchita would be beautiful on ===> http://s5.tinypic.com/2i7w86b.jpg

well i must say asma assad has samething special she really look class and elegant

It must be Chanel and of course,it's very beautiful and elegant.I admired it on both ladies!!

About the takchita of Chirac visit, I am not a specialist of Moroccan traditional dress, but for what I read the big flowers is the style of Rabat city, for me, it’s nice to dress all the styles of Morocco (even if personally I don’t like the too big flowers) Imo, the problem isn’t the big flowers but their colour that don’t match well with the green of the material (that is beautiful), I don’t like also the shape of her earrings, in other hand I think that the whole look could be average if she had a more refined make-up and hairdo (the make-up was really awful and the hairdo a mess), but like this, her look during this dinner was of bad taste.
In Thailand, the yellow dress was nice, but the cut didn’t suit her, the dress don’t fall nicely, imo because salma don’t have a nice waist curvature, and I don’t understand why she choose this bag, it isn’t loosy but don’t match with the dress. The brown suit of the departure was lovely and the color suits her, I like also her light make-up, the jewels were nice, but the necklace was in excess

Thank you,ML!!It's hard to compete Rania, but LS was really elegant in both pictures.I liked the yellow jacket a lot!!

i agree with you rosa about the takchita, the red-blue flowers don't much the light green or white sfifa, but you know those colors match well the french flag ;) which is funny and amusing, but imo it should not be adopted by someone of high rank as a first lady. bcz it sounds like a carnaval not a reasonable idea.

for that dinner (and other occasions) the make-up was so excessive, like the one in fez festival with rania http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/1429/20077bf3.jpg
i must say that with salma features, excessive make-up don't look nice at all.

Zineb,I don't think that these colors match the french flag. For me,the color looks more as a green shade and not blue.
Yes,her make-up wasn't light but all the morrocan princesses tend to use too much make-up.At the same event, the other princesses were also exageratly made up:ROFLMAO:.Only Hasna looked nice on this event
I specially hate the dark red lipstick they use even for daytime activities.

I love her chanel suits. The one with the pant suit was absolutly gorgeous.
Her outfits in Thailand were nice though wearing jewels with religious symbol is IMO innapropriate in a foreign visit for a first lady (specially when the hosts don't share you religious beliefs)
I also like her white and yellow jackets. But,I think she used too much jewels with the yellow one.

yes soraya, the fabric itself is green shade, but the rest is blue-red-white which is the same as french flag. The jewel are red and white. Her make-up has also blue eye-shadow, red lipstick and red blush fard, which is completely different of her sisters in law. yes meryem uses often more make-up than her sisters on evening events, but it's goes fine with her face and features, especially her lips and eyes. for salma face' shape and features, a heavy make-up takes off all feminity.

that's what i thought, it's not appropriate. no one there has any jewel with a religious symbol. and when you are going to party with all those jewel and make-up, i don't see the point from having god' name on a necklace :nonono:

I liked these turquoise earrings, but not the choker. She shouldn't use all that glitter, she doesn't even need it.I don't mind at all when Heads of States wear jewels with religious symbols during their visits. For example,I would never like to see the Greek First Lady being "crucified" by the foreign media just because she wore her Cross during a state visit.Think about it.

I too don't see any wrong on that, moreover I even think head of state and first ladies represent culture and heritage of their countries so wearing sush thing IMO is very good idea,so and this me of cours:) love and proud as moroccan to see the princesses in caftans,traditional/religious meaning jewles,i like seen rania arabic tiara,Noor necklaces....they are muslims so there is no harm to wear things show it.

yes, each has to be proud of his or her culture, tradition and beliefs, but where are good manners in all these? especially when you visit another country who has other beliefs?
i think we have to be respectful and very attentive to details to not shock or offend anyone. you know, if salma visits a french school, she hasn't to wear such jewel .. as the french law doesn't tolerate it. i do like to see others do the same when they are in morocco. so what about a first lady who should be an example.

how moroccan people could percieve a foreign first lady comes to morocco showing her huge religious symbol or whatever?
yes, it's not a crime, and personally it doesn't offend me at all but the guest at high level of such visits, should be very respectful and attentive to the host country and its population. also, some countries are more attentive to these details than others.

coming back to salma necklace on those circumstances, it's really out of place.

wearing necklaces with Allah on it ,in visits to other countries is not an invitation to be a muslim.
if foreign first lady show up to Morocco like that I wil as Moroccan have anything against nothing at all.

Personally,I have nothing against those religious jewels but one has to be careful not not to hurt others beliefs specially in official visits abroad.
I wouldn't like to see my first lady going to a muslim, buddhist, hinduist ...country with a cross.I also wouldn't like to see my first lady with a short or a sleeveless dress when receiving a muslim king or president.
In fact, the perception of those things varies from one country to another.
That's why one has to be very careful.
I like the fact that she has worn a yellow dress in Thailand.Yellow is the color of the king in Thailand. This was a very nice gesture from her and the dress was very nice.

Does someone know what is the brand of the yellow and white jackets (with mrs Bush and queen Rania)?

Thank you salma
I wonder if it is a dress or a coat?

I think is a coat.

i saw something similar, but i don't remember if it's armani or valentino

yes, i think it's not an invitation to be a muslim. all know she is from a muslim country. she was there with people from around the world with different religions, all deserve respect. so imo the necklace with Allah on it, doesn't add anything to anybody faith. and the fact she wore that one and another with coran verse in same visit, let's us think on the reason ??? plus of that, it's not appropriate to wear Allah name when you are going to a party. i don't know what's the position of islam about this subject, but the vatican made some statements on celebrities who wear the cross - a sacred symbol of the catholic faith - as a fashion accessory with diamonds and precious stones, and questioned if it was correct to spend that much on a copy of the sacred symbol of the christian faith.

i think if someone does love to wear such jewel, it should be very modest and very appropriate to events and circumstances.

all royals in Thailand were wearing their orders and sashes you know that some has the cross on,religious details....,and they all show up to the celebrities proud of what they are wearing,i didn't hear anyone say:eek:h what ignorance, why they are wearing a sush religious things,it's inappropriate we already know they are christians...
i believe that they were not trying to prove their faith.
maybe it's not jewels but i think it's the same idea:show up in countries with a religious stuff that ppl there don't beleive in.
