I think it is the sweater that makes E look more formal than A.

I think Elisabeth's dress had a fuller skirt. Then again, I could be wrong. But you're right, the sweater definitely adds to the 'formal' aspect.

Amalia's dress is similar to the dress Princess Elisabeth of Belgium wore a couple of days ago.

Yes, it´s almost identical, except maybe for the underskirt Elizabeth´s had. I loved the way Alexia is posing. Full of charm. She´s gonna be a heartbreaker!

So now we've seen three royal ladies wearing it : Amalia and Elisabeth with the same cut,
Alexia with the same fabric, only a slightly different cut.

Love Amalia's dress. Alexia's pose was precious!

This was posted in the thread concerning the news of the Dutch Crown Princely family, but I thought I'd post it here too.
Princess Maxima attended a musical with her three daughters. Love the attire on the girls; casual but still appropriate for a theatre/concert outing.

The only outfit I did not care at the musical for was Ariane in the brown top/ white skirt combo! Love CA in her pink and purple!
Alexia was simply darling in the flowered dress with little blue cardigan!
Both she and CA have great princess poise!

So the tradition of wearing the same goes over from mothers to daughters.
