Yeah, I think William belongs to the majority of men where clothes only serve three purposes:
A) Keep warm.
B) To be able to walk around in public without being arrested.
C) Providing somewhere to put your hands.
- And there is no known cure.
This is where the wife comes in. Kate, just like Mette-Marit, needs to take over and dress her husband for him. He will grumble a bit at first but that will pass and after a while he will get used to automatically putting on what is laid out on the bed for him. He'll be happier too you know.
I know many married men (William or Haakon-types where the wife has taken over) who firmly believe socks and underwear grow in drawers and who haven't got the faintest clue about how many shirts they have but turn to their wives for the answer.
Because if Kate does not intervene, William will within a few years discover the dreaded camping-tuxedo and then he will wear that on the job, to funerals or for a stroll and it will be impossible to get it off him!
For those who are unsure what a camping-tuxedo is: http://media.temashop.dk/catalog/pro..._habit_b_1.jpg

I don't believe women should take on the task of dressing their husbands. Men are adults and are responsible for their own choices and should be held accountable for them. And, frankly, as boring as William's choices may be, I think he would do well to rely on his own decisions, since I don't have much regard for Kate's choices about her own clothes. I think William would be better off seeking his father's advice.

Yes, perhaps Charles could loan one of his valets to William!

You mean there are two blue sweaters, I seriously thought there was only one.

William, like the vast majority of royal men, looks crisp, elegant and well-tailored at his events and appearances, with appropriate clothes that befits his position. Not sure why he's singled out from, say, Willem-Alexander or Felipe or Daniel as a particular object of scorn in this thread.

Don't worry, we'll cover them all eventually.
And as practically all the royal men covered here either don't care at all about how they dress or dress with a twinkle in their eyes (just look at PH) I think we can safely write about them and have a little chuckle at same time.
Even the best dressed among the royal men, Prince Charles and the Duke of E being two, don't come across as vain, they just like being well-dressed IMO.

Like his father, Frederik has also dab into wearing the color purple, but of course with much sexier results

Singled out for scorn? I guess people see what they want to see. He is certainly not alone on this thread.
Joachim and Fred for their red pants and other choices

William comes up on this thread the most right now as there was an article about his clothes on tour which stemmed a lot of the talk. If you look at the older thread (this is part 2), you will find he is in good company.

Good grief, it looks like Haakon takes the lead in the worst dressed men's category! The too small coat, the slipper shoes with what looks like goloshes and the mismatched trousers and, is that water in the basement just to finish the "look"?

Are we sure that Haakon is wearing galoshes and they are not so ghastly new pair of shoes we will never see the end of? It's hard to tell from the picture.
I'm not really sure what to say about the whole look. The jacket is too short, the trousers are unpressed and the dour colours seem unprofessional to me.
I don't mind Haakon going more casual in his style if he wants to, one can look clean-cut and smart in a pair of jeans and a nice crisp shirt.

In Norway this is actually considered a very formal attire. That is, for the few Norwegians who notice.
Once Norwegians are old enough to walk they are issued a sweater, a knitted cap, sturdy trousers, knitted socks, practical shoes and a rucksack. And unless restrained they will head straight for the hills.
Here is a typical Norwegian you will encounter everywhere in Norway :
They will wear this outfit until it's completely worn out or they die, in which case they are buried in it.
Due to the spectacular scenery Norwegians will march around in the hills in hordes, completely oblivious to anything and anyone, let alone how they dress, breathing in lung-fulls of fresh air, and as we all know, too much air affects your mind. And when combined with a diet of fish they become completely out of reach fashion-wise.
I know. It's a shock for many of you to see the Norwegian in this clip, but the rest of us living in Scandinavia are used to the sight and we know that they are happy. Blissful in fact.
And that is why Haakon is dressed the way he is, and that's why there is nothing anyone can do about it.

 It really is pretty horrible.
I fear Haakon is a genuinely hopeless case.
But we should always look on the bright side: Haakon will no doubt entertain us for many years to come. And for that he deserves a
