Well, perhaps not the most interesting subject, however it was good to see the Minister for Industy & Business, Annette Wilhelmsen, have a good time - for once.
Annette Wilhelmsen is also the fairly new chairman of the least influential of the three government parties, the Socialist People's Party. She is, in her own words, inexperienced.
She was elected chairman because the party, to put it mildly was going quite a bit to the right. Accepting a policy that in many ways is to the right of the party I vote for! (We sure are living in interesting times)!
Of course the party is being punished for that by their voters and the grassroots in the party and the local party groups had huge problems accepting this. So Annette Wilhelmsen was voted in as the new chairman, with the task of turning the party to the left again. So far with very little success. The de facto prime minister (not the one with the actual titel of Prime Minister, mind you!), Margrethe Vestager, from the centre-right party, the Radicals, quickly put an end to that nonsense.
- It ain't easy being a socialist nowadays, it seems...
So I think she deserves having a merry time with Frederik.

Frederik was on the job today, reports BB: Billed-Bladet - Frederik tog fødselsdagsblomster med hjem til Mary
First he had a meeting with Danish Badmintom Association at Amalienborg.
In the afternoon he presented a prize to Frederik Løchte Nielsen on behalf of the Tennis Association.
Upon leaving the event he was presented witha bouquet of flowers and responded: "I'll take this home to my wife (formal word)".

A clip from TV2 of Frederik running in the Marseliborg Forest in Aarhus this afternoon. Right next to Marseliborg Manor actually. TV 2 | ØSTJYLLAND | 400 løb med kronprinsen | Nyheder | Aarhus
The run was for charity and there were 400 runners taking part in the five kilometre run. Frederik finished among the first 20.
As you can tell it was pretty cold today and during the night it snowed, so that I again, again, had to clear the freaking stuff from our sidewalk!

Yes, in a decent 22 minutes 20 seconds.
Buuut, he was overtaken by an eleven year old girl, Kristine Mygind Sørensen, who finished two minutes ahead of Frederik.
11-årig løb fra kronprinsen
Mee, mee
Kristine said afterwards: "That was fun. I haven't said hello to the Crown Prince before, but he seemed very nice".

Cool little girl! With the icy paths yesterday, I had never reached the finish line
Here is a nice picture from Billedbladet of Frederik "in action"

Another little thing ... Our Crown Prince runs side by side among 500 other runners. Almost in one big lump. How is the security of Frederik at such events? It must be hard to be security guards at events like this where Frederik is in the middle of several hundred people. I'm sure that the safety is at the top about our crown prince, I'm just wondering.

I am prepared to bet that the runners immediately next to the Crown Prince were in fact members of his security team.
That;s the standard security procedure at events like that.

I wonder if the subject of horsemeat substitution came up, or if Diplomacy manners precluded that subject.
