Italian State Visit to Norway Starts Without King Harald V

President Sergio Mattarella arrived was welcomed in Norway this morning by members of the Norwegian royal family. The president is paying a three day state visit to the Scandinavian country. As usual he is accompanied by his daughter Laura Mattarella.

After the official welcome in the palace, the president posed for photos with Crown Prince Haakon, Queen Sonja, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Astrid. Due to an infection King Harald V was unable to attend the visit. His son and heir stood in for him.

In the evening there was a state banquet in the royalm palace of Oslo. Queen Sonja escorted the president to his table while the Crown Prince walked with the president’s daughter.
