On November 21, it was announced in a public statement by the Duke of York that he would be stepping down from public engagements “for the foreseeable future”, following his interview with reporter Emily Maitlis about his association and involvement with Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking case.

It has been reported that Prince Andrew met Epstein in the early 1990s through association with Ghislaine Maxwell, who was also involved in the sex trafficking ring with Epstein, and he visited him at his residence in the US on several occasions. In return, Epstein and Maxwell were also pictured at Sandringham with the Prince.

Virginia Giuffre has stepped forward and will be interviewed by Panorama next week, talking about how she said she was trafficked to Andrew via Maxwell. She is one of the alleged 16 women who were abused by Epstein. Giuffre, then Roberts, is now 35 and was 18 when she said she had her third sexual encounter with Prince Andrew on Little St. James Island with 9 other girls.

She said that “Epstein, Andy, approximately eight other young girls and I had sex together.

“The other girls all seemed and appeared to be under the age of 18 and didn’t really speak English.

“Epstein laughed about the fact they couldn’t really communicate, saying that they are the ‘easiest’ girls to get along with.”

Various charities have now disassociated themselves from the Duke of York and Andrew himself has also stepped down as the founder of Pitch at the Palace.
