Belgian King and Queen Begin State Visit to India

Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of The Belgians started today, Monday November 6, a week-long state visit to India. The Royal Couple arrived in India on Sunday accompanied by a large business and institutional delegation comprising of Belgian Ministers and CEOs of Belgian companies.

On their first day, the King and Queen paid a visit to the famous mausoleum, Taj Mahal, built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde posed for the press sitting in front of the monument on the marble bench. The Royal Couple also toured the monument accompanied by a superintending archaeologist, signed the guestbook and then posed again for a group photo with the entire Belgian delegation.
