Denmark’s Princess Marie opened a new art exhibition at the Museet Ordrupgaard in Charlottenlund on Thursday March 9.

Pissarro: A Meeting On St Thomas features artworks by Fritz Melbye and Camille Pissarro to mark the 100th anniversary of the sale of the Danish West Indies to the United States of America (the islands are now known as the United States Virgin Islands). Melbye was a Danish Golden Age artists, while Pissarro was a Danish-French Impressionist artist.

The Princess – who looked chic in a green patterned blouse and a black A-line skirt – gave a brief speech at the opening, before touring the exhibition with the museum’s curator and the French Ambassador to Denmark.
