King Felipe Attends Funeral of Former Portuguese President

Spain’s King Felipe VI today attended the state funeral of the former Portuguese President, Mário Soares, at the Jeronimos Monastery in Lisbon. He was joined at the service by Prince Moulay Rachid of Morocco, as well as a number of heads of state.

The King offered his condolences to the family of President Soares, who died at the age of 92 on Saturday, upon his arrival at the Monastery.

Earlier, the King had a brief meeting with the current President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
