Crown Prince Frederik has officially opened the Kolding Hospital which is part of the extension and renovation of the previous hospital on the site. The new section of the hospital holds the emergency department, the chapel and a mother-child centre.

After cutting the opening ribbon, Prince Frederik was given a tour of the new facilities, including the trauma room and wards, which has created 600 new jobs in the city. He was accompanied by the Danish Minister of Health.

The Prince was also no longer sporting the neck brace he was required to wear since mid-October, when he injured his spine in a trampolining accident.
