Victoria and Daniel In Peru: Day 2

Day 2 in Lima started just before 7:30am as the couple headed to their first event of the day. Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel visited the Volvo head office Lima. The couple were briefed on road safety, their training facilities which trains people on road safety.

After the Volvo visit, the next stop was visit to the National Cancer Institute (INEN). During the visit to the institute, the couple paid a visit to the children ward. They had some Pippi-books to give to the children. Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel were briefed about the institute and their co-operation with Swedish companies and the Karolinska Institute.

Third event of the day was a guided tour of the historic center of Lima. During the tour, they sew the monastery of El Monasterio San Franscisco, Lima’s old railway station, La Casa de la Literatura Peruana where they viewed an exhibition of Nobel laureate, Mario Vargas Llosa’s who has work is displayed. The tour ended at the State House.

Last event in Peru was a meeting and lunch with the Mayor of Lima, Luis Castañeda in the City hall. The Mayor presented the Crown Princess with “Ciudad de Lima” Medal.
