Mette-Marit Visits Økofestivalen
Ahead of her fortieth birthday celebrations tomorrow, Crown Princess Mette-Marit visited the Økofestivalen on its opening day in Sande yesterday.
Dressed casually in a white skirt and a brown jumper, the Princess spent around an hour at the festival, touring stalls and tasting the food on offer. “Now I’m full,” was her comment after tasting some organic pumpkin soup, carrot juice and some tapas.
“It is a great festival, and there are an incredible number of talented producers,” Mette-Marit told reporters, after filling her car boot with plenty of healthy goodies for her children – Marius, Ingrid Alexandra and Sverre Magnus. “They get a lot of organic food,” she confirmed.
The festival is the only fully-organic festival held in Norway, and is held to showcase and promote Sande as an Eco-commune. 24% of the agriculture in Sande is grown organically. Økofestivalen has been held annually since 2006.
