Tiaras And Hair

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Could anybody please post pictures of CP Maxima with the peacock parure? To come back to some comments earlier - I think that tiaras with colored gemstones look much better with blonde hair.
Thanks! :flowers:

I guess the hairdo was created to keep the fanatastic tiara in place.
The peacock parure is stunningly gorgeous. I had not ever seen it before.

the parure and the matching jewels, esp the necklace, are stunning. The Dutch family own some beautiful pieces.

I was stunned and pleased to see the peacock tiara and yes, the Dutch do have some beautiful pieces. I liked that Maxima wore her hair up so it shows the tiara to an advantage.

I never cease to be amazed by the way Letizia just smacks the old tiara on the head and leaves the hair a straggling mess more suited to a teenager. IMO it takes supreme confidence to carry off a really serious "updo" a la the Swedes at the Nobels.
In this shot there is too much hair and not enough tiara!
Same problem with this do, especially when posed beside a lady renowned for her sophisication. I leaves her looking a bit "little girl".
In this frontal shot her hair looks a mess and the tiara just slapped on like a cherry on top of a cupcake! The cut of the top of her dress was truely awful as with the high neckline and the long hair hanging down, her sholders were the focal point.
These shots are a great improvement with her hair styled with height, to accentuate the tiara and with the sides pulled up and back to emphasis her really fine bone structure and fabulous earrings.

I guess that is what really annoys me about Letizia. She can and has looked fabulous but, for the most part, chooses to not make the effort. :bang:

Diamond Tiaras
i found this website that if you enter you can see how they re-made all Mary's tiaras and jewellery, very interesting, great copies made with gold, silver diamonds rubys etc.....so real tiaras and jewelery i am very impress with what they do, i have to get my husband to get me the chandeliers ear rings and the ruby tiara!!!! they are to die for......I have to say that it is impresive how they made them, we all see all this nice photos of all of them with this beautiful hai up dos and tiaras, now if we have the money of course we can havethe same!

Guys, this is the Royal Jewels Forum and this thread is intended to discuss how tiaras and jewels go together with the hair. It is not a thread to discuss individual hairstyles or whether Mary's is better than Marie's.

I've taken out a page of posts about hair. Discussion and critiques of hairstyles should be done in the Royal House of Fashion forum.

thanks.

:previous: Wow! I never thought I would ever say that the Cameo Tiara looked anything but rather unflattering (OK, downright ugly), but I have to say that on top of that braid it looks fabulous. Wonder how it would go with the wedding veil? ;)

I think Silvia looks ridiculous with that braid and then the Cameo on top. :)
Mary having her hair like that, suits the Ruby Parue perfectly.
Marie's braided hair doesn't suit the floral tiara, the way she had it last year looked much more suitable.

I know that the Cameo Tiara has a lot of fans, but I dont care for it at all, no matter what the hairstyle.

:D I think its wonderful, and I like this (down) better than the Julia Timosjenko style :D Very nice and regal. Perfect match between hair and tiara imo

At first I thought I saw a braid here too... but its not... or is it? Kind of hard to see... but its lovely!

There is possible one down the back, but not at the front.
Now the sapphie set suits Silvia's hair style. :flowers:

No, this Nobel 2004 hairstyle was not a braid at all. The whole hair, on top and in the back, was parted in strands, the strands set in bendy curlers and pinned up, probably to a filler underneath.
Impressive but fussy – Queen Silvia wore this kind of tiara hairdo only two or three times.

The strangest combination was the one I saw just now in the Malaysian royal jewels thread. There is one lady wearing her tiara on top of a muslim headscarf. There's one style I've not seen before!

Many ladies in the Brunei, and some in the Malaysian, royal family wear their tiaras on top of their hijab (headscarf). This includes the Queens of both countries.

This is absolutely beautiful!

This was interesting! And this is what I think: With such beautiful hijabs you dont need a tiara :) But of course, if you are in possession of tiaras you want to wear them :D But maybe the tiara would go better to the hijab if the hijab was more low key and discreet... But the "wedding style" of wearing it maybe do better justice to both a beautiful tiara and a beautiful hijab??
