So the Queen is wearing the Burmese rubies and Camilla her usual Boucheron tiara. I couldn't see the Duchess of Cambridge's tiara in the picture.

Check out this pic, tiara fans! The countess of Wessex has changed her wedding tiara. The diamond elements have been rearranged and some diamonds have been added in order to cover the high base.

Mrs Obama and the girls were on vacation and visited London in 2009. The girls were 10 and 8. They had a 3 hour tour of BP and got to meet the Queen. As part of the visit, QEII arranged for the girls to have a ride in a carriage on the grounds. Apparently, it was on Sasha's 8th birthday. Later, during some visit, President Obama publicly thanked the Queen for being so gracious to Michelle and the girls.

That's a private visit on a personal level (yes, I'm aware if she wasn't the FLOTUS, HM wouldn't have known her). However, this is not. And like it was said earlier, there is a difference between bringing your child who lives under your roof as they are still minors than your grown children with their own lives. At that point, they are just to ride the coattails.

When people elect to have a republic, they DON'T want the family and business to mix.

I don't recall the Obama girls meeting the Queen. I don't recall any of the Obamas riding in a carriage or coach.

The Obama children met HM on a PRIVATE visit to London with their mother. The carriage ride on the palace grounds was a treat for the youngest on her 8th birthday from the queen.

I laugh(without mirth) at posters trying to find a parallel with the Trump posse heading to London en masse during a State visit obviously for the sole purpose of rubbernecking and rubbing shoulders with royalty. There IS no parallel in presidential history.
