Letizia knows how to dress chic and stylish. The mystery to why she recycles and doesn't choose expensive designer wear may be an indication of just that. You cannot guess her and she is a beautiful woman, always preferring an indication that leaves one wondering maybe why.

Why does a person who knows the protocol or stereotypical look seem to question standards and expectations. She knows what looks fine and excellent, exquisite even, and still she appears to shun the conservative. I like her and I think I know her. I think she is a wealth of a marvel where it takes desire to understand how she comes across and why.

Maybe it is Spain and maybe it is an apparent action by the Queen of Spain and maybe there is poetry in her choice where she is the Queen of Spain and knows it.

As I said, to each is own. I read this forum because I am interested in the SRF but I pay less attention to the outfits than I do with the activities itself, fashion forum notwithstanding.

I would be very interested in what the common Spanish people think of her clothes. Are they complaining that her clothes are inexpensive?

We had a first lady who was not particularly interested in fashion but she is remembered for being one of the best first ladies of all time because or her accomplishments.

Instead of seeing tabloid headlines like 'Letizia spent 20,000 per month in clothes and accessories (the article was marked with wrong brands or wrong prices, more than half of the pieces were recycled), you would see 'Letizia spent 50,000 per month' if she dressed like her mom-in-law. LOL .
On the other hand, I'd rather seeing her wearing pant suits with the same cut, different colors from Varela than the clothes from Mango and Zara.
I am not sure about that. On engagement day, Letizia wore Armani, remember. The suit was being criticised for being white and no skirt, not financially.

Even if she had continued in the same league as her MIL or SILs nobody would have bothered, imo, because it was the standard for the other female members of the SRF before Letizia came and it still is. And the suits she finally chose to wear were even cheaper than high end cotoure like Armani or Valentino. I cant recall that somebody ever questioned her suits of the first years for financial reasons, she stopped wearing them for no apparent reason.

F&L in Burgos

For once, a simple but approriate outfit. The jacket is lovely & classy.

Cool

Very smart and classy. I seem to recall that Letizia was criticized for not wearing an outfit from a Spanish designer at her engagement appearance.

It's quite a pretty jacket, this style really suits her well. Overall look was a bit too dark. She could've worn a white shirt or a white pants to brighten it up with the same jacket. I like how she put sometime into her hair, looks quite nice.

I think that first of all she is promotting Zara and Mango clothing, and Zara and Mango doens't have cheap clothes.... a dress that costs 69€ in Mango is an expensive dress...Princess letizia has promoted it, I aplaude her for promoting Spanish brands so well. She dress elegant and she doesn't need to dress with ultra expensive clothes...do you she is less a Princess or less a becoming Queen because the way she dresses?...I always think that when she is dressing more casual is because she wants to be near people and not promoting her all the time...she wants to look simple but good, nice, she doesn't need to look impecable all the time!

It's a matter of opinion whether she looks elegant all the time. JMHO, no, she doesn't. I understand you think she does, and I respect that. But I don't see why she can't be near the people if she is dressed more in tune with her husband and his parents. Other CPS dress much nicer and seem to have no problem relating to the crowds that turn out to see them. And actually, she should look impecable when on an official engagement. She has no problem promoting Zara and Mango....maybe she should start promoting herself

The outfit looks better with the jacket - it helps break up the solid blue colour. I really like the pattern on the jacket - sort of a marbled look.

I love the whole outfit... but perhaps she could have added a simple necklace to break up the one color look. Very smart looking and No platforms! :)

The outfit looks much better with the jacket on. The t-shirt takes it down to the overly casual look that she wears too much.
