A top detailing on a coat is nice. However, the whole look was spoilt by the fur-looking trimming. Another outfit, which reminds me of a what a very conservative headmistress would wear, looked just all right.

Is the trimming fur? Doesnt look like it, looks like its knitted fabric/yarn giving the effect of fur which I dont really like. I like the detailing of the scarf, is it part of the jacket?

I'm not sure if it's because of the quality of the picture, but to me it doesn't look as if it was fur, but I think the scarf isn't a part of the jacket.
I'm not very fond of this coat. Overall it looks okay, but also kind of frumpy, JMO. :ermm:

One the one hand, I am glad that she is not wearing fur trimming but the other I really dislike the faux fur trimming, IMO totally unnecessary. The coat would have been better without it. Also, I don't think she is wearing a separate scarf or even one at all. I think the coat collar is pinned to give the effect of such.

Princess Mathilde went to church yesterday with queen Fabiola

Belgium's Crown Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde arrive to attend a walking lunch during the Diplomatic Days at the Egmont Palace in Brussels January 11, 2010. Diplomatic Days is an annual meeting for government officials to discuss and develop foreign affairs policies for the coming year.

Two stunning outfits. :flowers:

:previous: I quite like this kind of dresses on her, they make her look very young and slimer. The print and colours are lovely, it´s a good outfit for a theatre evening, IMO ;)

Wonderful outfit, the girl in the second picture looks quite scared. :)

I dislike these colours and prints they are odd imo ,and I dislike shoes too:eek:

Crown Princess Mathilde's ensemble at the reception is just all right. Although a coat dress is well-tailored to fit her figure, I am not sure about trench elements of the dress, which make the dress busy. A tonal embossed flowery pattern gives a nice touch a simple design of the dress. I wonder whether the piping on the trench-styled coat dress and collar is made of karakul (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karakul_(sheep)).

I can't answer your question, Al Bina, but I agree with you. I would prefer to see this coat worn during a different event. The shoes are very elegant and modern.

Crown Princess Mathilde recycles the ivory suit by Nathan, which is a good thing. I like the style of jacket. However, an awkwardly pleated skirt severely spoils this ensemble for me.

I only like the top part and this elegant evening bag. The skirt and the pointy shoes are not my cup of tea, I fear.

I don't care for the cream pointy shoes. I think they are too pointy. I do love the shoes she wore with the print "trench" style dress around New Years. Those shoes were really different, but fabulous!

This cream jacket is nice. I don't like the skirt, but I adore her clutch with the bow on it.

Mathilde is pretty in this cream/gold outfit. I don't normally like pointy shoes, but these are cute! Love the clutch.
