4th Day outfit first picture.
The blouse with the long necklace looks pretty. Wish I could see if she's wearing jeans or trousers here! Maybe later.

Close up

The top is unflattering, too much going with the ruffles on teh front, the elastic band on the waist which for some odd reason decided to wear a belt which looked all wrong.
I found this outfit very casual.

My favourite outfit worn by Mary in the United States was the purple dress - a lovely, elegant look. I loved the matching purple shoes and the hairdo.
I also liked the first look .
I'm not sure about the Jacky O. look... I think the outfit itself is fine; but could easily be worn by Queen Margrethe as well... it looked a bit stiff and not really her age.
The hat, sunglasses and her hairdo were lovely.

I agree with you. Too much going on, with the ruffles, the necklace and the neck tag thing. I am not keen on Mary in navy at all.

Yes, this blouse is a turn off.

I think Mary has made some interesting and good choices on this trip. Her polka dot skirt, was last seen when she was engaged. I loved it. Her Jackie o outfit was a nice modern take. She was visiting arlington national cemetary. So what she wore was very appropriate. She also visited the Kennedy graves there. Gloves are usually worn on this type of visit out of respect and formality. Then Navy ruffle top was okay. It didn't look as tailored as she usually wears. She looks amazing in Navy. Her airy tunic was beautiful. The purple dress was nice. I really liked her hair and makeup with that one.

When they were laying the wreath at Arlington there was a very large "M" on the ribbon along with smaller writing above the "M". I am sure this is why the gloves and hat. She was following Royal Protocol since they were doing this on behalf on the Queen.

From Troonopvolgers:
Washington 1 - great looks from Mary

Washington 2 -
the Arlington outfit was too much for me, too over the top. The stiff formality of the outfit reminds me rather of QEII than of a CP in her late thirties. All dresses are very pretty though.

I like Mary's high heels, they look very elegant but it must be painful to walk around in them. Like her spanish colleague, it will only be a question of time until we see the result and Mary returning to more comfortable shoes.

Thanks for the close-up! I changed my mind too. She doesn't look good here. The make-up artist must have had a day off or something.

I loved all of Crown Princess Mary's clothes and accessories from her United States trip. Her total look was A+. She has a wonderful figure that she knows how to emphasis her good qualities.

I have to disagree with some of you about her Arlington Cemetery fashion statement.

I think the retro style was appropriate. She was honoring America with a look of Jacqueline Kennedy of the 60's. Mrs. Kennedy was like royalty to us in the United States. Jacqueline wore the pill box hat in her early 30's and made the hat very marketable in America. I think Crown Princess Mary was doing what other royals have done by honoring the host country. I know Princess Diana would go to countries and wore dresses in the country's color or style.

BTW Mrs Kennedy is buried with President Kennedy at Arlington.

I liked all the outfits she wore on this visit I can see why the Arlington outfit could give that impression but I too think it an appropiate quite looking dress and loved the colour of the gloves. At first I could not believe it I thought it was just too boring but she was there offically and in that capacity I liked it. Nothing she wore was amzing but it was all well chosen for the events she attended and whoever helped her or chose the outfits and accessories did a really fine job IMO

Love the coat and love the stone detailing on the collar. Pretty print & color as well. I like how everything stayed simple and soft.

Thats the very first thing I thought.
I looked at the pregnancy thread and I couldn't find the outfit though,
When did she wear it?
It does look beautiful.
