I think it means putting their gloves on is a "stupid" thing to do while standing "at attention" during the national anthem. Basically, it is very disrespectful and I was very surprised myself.
Is it possible that the anthems had finished and it was just music being played while the Queen and President inspected the Guard of Honour? Both Mary and Marie seem too well experienced at such events to commit such an obvious faux pas.
The thing on Frederik's lapel has that got something to do with Mexico?
M&M both put on their gloves during the Mexican anthem.
But in all fairness the Mexican First Lady didn't stand still and look straight ahead, so perhaps all three had a collective blonde moment.
that's interesting, i wonder what proper etiquette is with the gloves during state visits. surely they take them off to shake hands, and then put them back on?
i wonder who the two ladies at the back of this picture are: maybe attendants to the first lady?

Thanks for all the pictures everybody
Nice pictures from the Crown Prince Couple's and the Presidential Couple's visit at the Tjørnegaard school:
(...)
The Crown Prince Couple has handled the majority of the duties during the State Visits for many years now. IIRC, since the Greek State Visit in 2009.This has been such a great visit and not only Her Majesty, but all Danish people, should be so proud of their Crown Prince Couple. They've handled their First Time of taking on the majority of the duties of a State Visit w/professionalism, but also making sure there's also a relaxed and warm atmosphere throughout. As nervous as they w/out a doubt must have been, both Fredrick and Mary did an wonderful job during the last few days.

Just wondering why Mary and Marie they have both a red dress for the gala? Didn't they talk each other that they would use a red drees or it has something o do with the Danish flag?
Oh dear, not a good look at all. He looks either drunk as a skunk or stoned out of his tiny mind! I should imagine his party spin doctors are going to be all over this like fleas on a dog.You may understand why the Danes are so satisfied with Queen Margrethe and our future King and Queen, Frederik and Mary, after having seen this video!
This is our Prime Minister arriving with his wife, Solrun, to the gala dinner at Fredensborg last night. I don't know whether I should cry or laugh Is he drunk? Or what on earth is he doing?
