Thanks for the Pictures of The King and President Arroyo!..The Philippines has a rich cultural heritage from Spain..Actually, the name Philippines ( Filipinas-Felipinas ), originated from the name of King Philip " King Felipe" of Spain..In the name of God and the King, The Philippines was a Spanish colony for 300 years...The current Duchess of Alba shares the same ancestor line with a super- rich family in the Philippines...

These scenes are soo touching and sad!:(:(
Spain feels very proud of their Kings, they are always with their people when needed the most...
That picture of the Queen kissing that crying woman shows the kind of person and monarch she is: doesn't hesitate to give comfort to those who need it...

I would add that the entire Royal Family is so close to Spanish people that they feel their losses and pain.

Unfortunetly this unfortunate event brings back March 11th scenes of pain and grieve.

In this photo from ELMUNDO.es we can see the pain in Queen's face when she approaches the crying lady.

Not to trivialize the tragedy of this situation and the loss of lives that occured, but the Spanish King and Queen really rise to the occasion under such circumstances.

The sadness, grief and emotion that is evident on the Queen's face in particular is so touching to see, as if she lost a member(s) of her family.

Through the March 11 attacks and when Spanish soliders died in war and the caskets were brought back to Spain, the King and Queen mourned alongside their fellow citizens and shared in their grief. Over and over again I am struck by how emotional the Queen can be and how struck with grief she seems even if she did not know those who died personally.

Her empathy and sympathy with the families grieving loved ones is so heartwarming to see.

I just saw a short clip of the funeral on the CBC, so sad.

It was a tremendously touching funeral.
But what mas I get excited, it was the gesture of the Queen Sophia. On having gone out of the church she was giving kisses with the hand to other attendees to the funeral. It is such a simple, gesture , but full so big of a generosity and a love, which is it does that the Spanish let's love so much to the Queen Sophia.

I agree with all!
I think they are so closed to the people that it will be hard for the Princes be as good as the Kings.
As the King said: "Vuestro Rey sufre con vosotros y comparte vuestra indignación" :(

This is what makes people love their royals...
Yeah!
But the King could say but doesn't feel like this. However, in this case, he feels like this!
And the people love (in this case) the Kings not just for this, because they have been doing a wonderful work for Spain. They have been working for 30 years, and i think most of people didn't realise their importance and their work. And they must be thankful for that!
