Duke Franz and the Royal House of Bavaria 2: 2022 -

Sophie-Alexandra seems to be taking her new role seriously. Wonder why they ended up in Colorado though; would have expected charity events closer to home.

I too was wondering the same. It seems very random.

By now I've found out that Sophie-Alexandra attended as "Global Ambassador" of the Children's Oncology Support Fund, the Aspen Snow Ball events are supporting, see also here and here from 2023.

She and Elisabeth, Princess in Bayern, attended the Aspen Snow Ball on February 3:

It is the connection that is quite random. If it was say HRH Princess Caroline of Hanover no one would bat an eye. After all the Princess has a long-standing history of supporting children's charities, is famous, and is also half American.

However, Princess Sophie-Alexandra is a Princess for less than a year from a non-reigning German mediatized house, she had no American ancestry, and has no longstanding history of supporting Pediatric charities. Random!

Sophie-Alexandra, Princess of Bavaria, attended the FRAUEN100 x CFFP Dinner at The Charles Hotel in Munich yesterday, February 16:

It seems Sophie Alexandra likes the 'representative role' more than her husband. I guess he is happy he found someone who can take on that part a bit more so he doesn't need to.

Ludwig, Prince of Bavaria (with Princess Mabel) attended the "Viktor&Rolf. Fashion Statements" Red Carpet and Preview at Kunsthalle der Hypo-Kulturstiftung in Munich, Germany, on February 21:

How wonderful! 😊😊😊

Based on Sophie's mention that she cannot participate in the Lion March (taking place in September each year) because it is close to her due date, the birth will most likely take place in late summer (or early fall).

Great news indeed! The couple must be thrilled, as must the rest of the family.

Congratulations to the couple!

Such a cute news! Congratulations to them!!! :flowers:

A part of Possenhofen Palace is for sale!
Specifically, it is the Old Palace, as it is called within the protected complex of Possenhofen.
The property that has been put up for sale has been the entire second floor of the property called 'the Beletage'.

On April 24 Ludwig, Prince of Bavaria, attended the laying of the first stone for a spiritual center - including a church, convent and rectory - in Loropio in northern Kenya. He did so as CEO of the Learning Lions network. It's a collaboration with missio Munich - a Catholic relief organization that was founded in 1838 by King Ludwig I of Bavaria:

That is great news! I know that Ludwig has been active for many years in humanitarian aid in Kenya. This sounds like a great project, I am sure it will help people in that area, as I know from several visits to that country, how poor especially the Northern parts are.

Prince Luitpold and Princess Beatrix will be leaving Schloss Kaltenberg near Munich. They will be moving to Schloss Bullachberg, which is 80km. more to the south and located close to schloss Neuschwanstein.

Schloss Bullachberg has been aquired by the Bavarian compensation fund earlier this year.

Prince Luitpold has lived in Kaltenberg since 1958. The castle is also rented out as an event space. He and his wife thererfore wanted to move to a more quiet place.

Bullachberg was built in 1907 for the entrepeneur Emil Papenhagen. A later owner was Prince Raphael Rainier of Thurn und Taxis. Another owner was the Porsche family. The last owner before the Wittelsbach family was Elisabeth von Elmenau, who undertook an extensive restauration.
