Victoria and Daniel arrived to Södertälje. The couple has on their own initiative asked to visit SweTox (Swedish Toxicology Sciences Research Center). The theme of the visit is competence, innovation and collaboration - to prevent and combat social exclusion. Victoria and Daniel were welcomed by Mayor Boel Godner and Governor Chris Heister. Victoria and Daniel get information why it is so important to Södertälje to continue to be a place for research and development. And of course the couple gets a tour at the premises.
They will also meet a student from Royal Institute of Technology, a student from the Business and Administration Programme of Torekällgymnasiet and two representatives from the Young Enterprise company Light Group.

SweTox is a national research center on toxicological sciences, and a collaboration between eleven Swedish universities. Governor Chris Heister spoke about the county's challenges of exclusion, integration, transition and maintenance of competence. Karina Uddén, Head of Business Development Unit of Stockholm County, presented the report Stockholm 2020, which shows that the demand for labor in the region is expected to increase by close to 200,000 people by 2020. Thanks Lady Finn for the posting. It makes one really appreciate how hard the Royals have to work. Preparation alone must take up so much time.I know they have people to do the research into the places and topics they visit but it still requires lots of prep to do a good job.

I would think it takes quite some homework to know enough about every place and cause to ask sensible questions and, if there are several engagements in one day, I can only imagine that Victoria's dyslexia has left her with a well trained memory. Daniel's on his own! :ermm:

. Dyslexia affects the individual with it in a variety of ways. We are all unique with our own unique strenghts and weakness but alot of dyslexic's have poor short term working memories. C P Victoria may have to work alot harder than others to learn.

Yes, this event was on the calendar.

ESBRI tells at their blog, that the background to this workshop was Victoria's and Daniel's visit to USA in the beginning of the year. They met Tina Seelig, professor at Stanford University (they visited the University), and became inspired. That led to this morning's workshop. Participants were thirty Swedish entrepreneurs from various industries and in various stages of establishment. Through hands-on exercises they had to contend with the problems, trained how to interview each other (to find out the prospective customer's needs) and learn brainstorming tricks. Tina Seelig stressed the importance of "framestorming" - a kind of preparatory work to frame the problem and ask the right questions - before you start brainstorming.

If anyone is interested in creativity and entrepreneurship I suggest you may enjoy Tina Seelig's books on the subjects. They are excellent.
 
 
Victoria and Daniel visit this afternoon AstraZeneca in Mölndal close to Gothenburg (in their duchy). AstraZeneca is global biopharmaceutical company. They were accompanied by governor Lars Bäckström and his wife.

Before going to AstraZeneca, Victoria and Daniel visited Öjersjö Brunn school in Partille municipality. The reason for visit was the students' work with basic values. Something that Crown Princess couple wanted to know more about.
Öjersjö Brunn's school participates in the program "Star for Life". On Thursday told a few students in grade 8 of their work for the Crown Princess Couple. According to the teachers and pupils both Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel were very interested in the students' work.
- It was very fun to show how we are working with the Star for Life material, said Helen Wattström, one of the coaches in the project, a music teacher at the school.

Victoria talked to Expressen. She said that they have had an interesting day. They have talked about integration and the progress of children and young people and how their self-esteem can be strengthened at school. At AstraZeneca they talked among other things about research, diabetes and kidney functions. About the refugee crisis Victoria said that here is of course nothing that leaves you unmoved. There are appalling stories and of course we try to take part of it like everyone else. There is a tremendous tough situation around the world and we have an extreme and complicated situation. About her pregnancy Victoria said that she is feeling very well and is very happy.
Victoria told to Expressen's reporter also that the family reads a lot of books and Estelle is currently going through the 200 children's books she received as a christening gift from the Swedish Parliament and Government. The reporter asked how Estelle feels about becoming a big sister. Victoria said that you should ask her, but she seems very happy.

Manager Katrin Hakopian tells that they talked about how they work with integration and what the Crown Princess Couple can do. They have not only a strong commitment but also a long-term approach that enables them to influence in a different way than politicians. Fryshuset works with integration by helping young people to find role models in their environment, which in turn helps to sensitize them to ensure everything is possible. Victoria saw the lunch at Fryshuset as very rewarding: At Fryshuset we had a very good dialogue on youth. We discussed integration issues and met people who told us about their own experiences, said Victoria.

Prince Daniel was in Karlstad last week and in August the newly married couple Prince Carl Philip and Sofia.
- It is actually pure coincidence that we have multiple visits in the fall. Prince Daniel's visit was also brought through their Fellowship and nothing that the governor and the provincial government really had anything to do with, says Teimouri.
The couple will stay just over a day so they do not have time to visit the whole county.

Victoria and Daniel visited on Tuesday 27th October Ersta Diakoni's activity for unaccompanied refugee children in Lukasgården in Nacka. During the visit they met 20 young people aged 15-17 years who all came alone to Sweden and are now waiting for a residence permit. Victoria and Daniel were told their stories and dreams for the future. The young people come from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Eritrea and Albania and go in different schools in the municipality of Nacka. Many are trying to have an active leisure time, and some joined in associations.
'The important activity conducted at Ersta made a strong impression. The power and ambition of the young people gives hope for the future!", said Victoria and Daniel after visiting Lukasgården.

The court updated the calendar, Victoria and Daniel will attend on Saturday 7th November at "Playing for Life", an aid concert for refugees in Europe in collaboration with RadioHjälpen. The concert is broadcasted live in SVT2 and Sveriges Radio P2 (no news if it will be shown live at SVT play).

Victoria and Daniel attended this evening at "Playing for Life", an aid concert for refugees in Europe in Berwaldhallen. The concert wass broadcasted live in SVT2 and Sveriges Radio P2. Musicians from The Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra performed with the Radio Choir and soloists, at the program was music from Tormis, Brahms, Mahler, Leoncavalli, Fröst, Mozart, Strauss and Massenet.
