Here the Crown Princess Couple drives a battleship – remotely from Karlskrona
On Monday, the Crown Princess Couple visited Blekinge – where they got to try driving a battleship.
– Very exciting, exclaimed Victoria.

Royal visit with focus on defence
It was a partly secret but also intense Monday for Victoria and Daniel. The visit was mainly about meeting those who will protect us in the event of an armed attack. And those who manufacture the submarines, ships and fighter jets.
No fighter jets are being manufactured in Blekinge, but submarines are, even though the delivery of the upcoming A26 super submarines will be delayed for a few more years. But Saab's importance to the Armed Forces cannot be underestimated, which is why Victoria and Daniel visited the Karlskrona shipyard for an insight into Saab Kockums' submarine manufacturing.

Ulrica Messing, the County Governor of Blekinge County:
"Today I welcomed the Crown Princess Couple at their visit to the Saab defence industry in Karlskrona and the Blekinge Wing F17 in Ronneby. Our county showed its most beautiful side with bright sunshine and light winds.
We are a small county on the surface, but we are the spearhead of Sweden's total defence. Here is unique expertise and advanced technological development that is important for our future. For me, it is important to show how Blekinge contributes to strengthening the country's total defense and preparedness. And I understood it as The Crown Princess and Prince Daniel were very pleased with the day.
The Crown Princess Couple are warmly welcomed back."

It was also a matter of remote control: Victoria was there with Daniel to look at the new Autonomous Ocean Core control system that can be operated without a crew – for reconnaissance, mine clearance and electronic warfare.
So somewhere out in the Skagerrak and Kattegat, Victoria's combat boat plowed through the waves at 40 knots. While she herself was 350 kilometers away: On dry land in Karlskrona.
You can understand that it was a slightly nervous Victoria who took the helm. Everyone in the Gothenburg archipelago could feel calm, however: Just to be safe, there were security personnel on board.

The Royal House about Victoria and Daniel's visit to Blekinge
About the visit to Blekinge Wing (Blekinge flygflottilj F 17):
The Crown Princess Couple and the County Governor were welcomed by the commander of F 17, Colonel Johan Elofsson, and then received information about the operations from Deputy Division Commander Major Robin Ohlsson.
Blekinge Wing is responsible, among other things, for incident preparedness with fighter aircraft and has two operational divisions with Jas 39 Gripen.

Blekinge Wing (Blekinge flygflottilj F 17) publishes photos of Victoria and Daniel's visit at its Facebook:
"On Monday, the Crown Princess Couple traveled to Blekinge and visited, among other things, Blekinge Wing F 17. The royal couple were welcomed by Flotilla Commander Johan Elofsson and Deputy Division Commander Robin Ohlsson, who spoke about F 17's activities."

The Crown Princess couple in a great mood in Visby
Victoria gave a short interview to Aftonbladet. She and Prince Daniel were happy to come to Visby.
– It is always fantastic to come to Gotland, but to celebrate this anniversary, it feels especially strong. And not least in these times.
The anniversary service was about reconciliation and community.
– There was a lot of wisdom that was said today. It is peace that we need, says Victoria.
Victoria calls Visby Cathedral of St. Mary “an important gathering place”.
– Somewhere to come to find hope and to find community. And that is really what the day offered today.

Visby Cathedral Parish published these photos:

After the service, the Crown Princess Couple attended a reception hosted by Bishop Erik Eckerdal.

Victoria and Daniel attend today the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce's "Unleashed" - the Annual Nordic Summit at Artipelag.
Unleashed is the annual summit where top decision-makers, innovators, and changemakers from across the Nordics come together to discuss, exchange ideas, and delve into the challenges and potential around us.
This year’s theme, ’The Potential’, is about rediscovering the Nordics – who we are, what sets us apart, and how we can turn our strengths into real impact...
Among the participants are Finland's former President Tarja Halonen and Victoria's former aide-de-camp Vice Admiral Ewa Skoog Haslum, the Chief of Joint Operations.

Afterwards, the municipality hosts a lunch at Skyttepaviljongen. In the afternoon, Mattias Holm will guide the Crown Princess Couple along the Gamla vägen to the square, Uno's Park and the church ruins. The official anniversary ceremony will be at the Gamla Torget at 14:30-15:30.

SAAB Barracuda is Gamleby's largest private employer.
Louise Flygt, communications manager at Västervik Municipality says that one wish was to come to SAAB Barracuda, which she thinks is perhaps part of Victoria's active work within Sweden's defence and NATO.
Production Manager Charlotta Fridell and Development Manager Åsa Stenberg took part in the tour.
- It's really cool, it's something that really doesn't happen every day. Once in a lifetime, says Charlotta Fridell.
– It was a bit nerve-wracking at first, but it was nice and they were incredibly interested and asked great questions. It's obvious that they are well-read and have a genuine interest. It's wonderful to share a little of what is our pride with the Crown Princess couple, who are actually familiar with the Swedish Armed Forces, says Åsa Stenberg.

SVT's photos and videos are updated here:

Victoria's speech, she said among other things
"When my great-grandfather Gustaf VI Adolf traveled through the country on his Eriksgata in 1954, he made a special visit to Gamleby. I appreciate that today we have been able to follow in his footsteps together with you. Before I came here, I saw a documentary from that visit. There the old king stated that “you live beautifully here” and I agree."

The Royal Court about Victoria and Daniel's Thursday's and Friday's work events:

Västervik Municipality:

From the visit to Gamleby on August 22:
The visit will go down in history for several reasons, not just that they had to seek shelter from a crazy storm in a carport. Municipal councilor Harald Hjalmarsson summarizes the royal visit and reveals that there are plans for a memorial with the Crown Princess couple's signatures.
- At the end of the lunch, the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel left their signatures. They want to be involved in the creation of some kind of memorial stone in Gamleby.
