THAT Hat Fetches £81,000 at Auction

The much talked about, largely unliked hat that sat atop Princess Beatrice of York’s head at the April 29 wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has sold at auction for just over £81,000. Described as a “gravity-defying hat”, the Philip Treacy creation was listed on eBay last week, with the auction closing yesterday with a winning bid of exactly £81,100.01.
