Spanish King and Queen Host Colombian President
King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain welcomed president Colombian President Gustavo Francisco Petro and his wife Verónica Alcocer in Madrid today. The president is paying a two-day State Visit to Spain to strengthen ties between the two countries.
In the morning the King and Queen received their visitors during a welcome ceremony on the court yard of the royal palace of Madrid. After a review of the guards the King again hosted the president during a luncheon at Zarzuela Palace. The day was concluded by a state banquet in the royal palace. The Queen wore a red dress and the Spanish floral tiara, combined with a diamond bow brooch from the joyas de pasar. The Colombian first lady looked lovely in a blue gown and cape. The visit will be continued tomorrow.
