The theme of this year was “Music Connects”, dedicated to the importance of the music among children and vulnerable young people. The award went to the musical association Watermusic of Ostend that presented to the jury of the prize a project called “Crossing Music”.

For this project, children from different nationalities have created songs inspired from their own culture.

In her speech the Queen stressed the importance of music especially for young people. “Music is a universal language that connects people regardless of their background,” she said, adding that the power of music is to bring together people.
