New Home Defence Colours Presented by Queen Margrethe

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark presented two Home Defence units with their new colours on Tuesday in Skive and Copenhagen.

The Landsdelsregion Vest, which was recently formed by the merged of the North and Central Jutland and Funen, South and South Jutland district units, and the Landsdelsregion Øst, recently renamed from Total Defence Region Zealand, both received their new colours in seperate ceremonies.

During each ceremony, Queen Margrethe – in a sky blue overcoat and matching hat – hammered one nail into the flag’s post – three nails in total are hammered in, symbolising the monarch, the country and the unit.
