Prince Harry was joined by a number of special guests at the Invictus Games yesterday, as US Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill at the finals of the wheelchair rugby.

The trio watched as the USA defeated Denmark in the gold medal match (earlier, Britain defeated Australia in the bronze game). They then presented the teams with their medals, Harry kissing the head of one of the American athletes as he gave him his medal.

Vice President Biden joked during his speech at the match that Jill was very supportive of the Games, but she “spent too much damn time with Prince Harry!” while she was in London for the first edition.

Harry and the Bidens were seen cheering on the athletes throughout the match, as well as taking photographs with other competitors from several countries in the crowd.

Earlier, Harry watched the swimming finals and presented medals for several events, including one to American swimmer Sergeant Elizabeth Marks, who gave her 100m freestyle gold medal back to the Prince so he could give it to staff at the Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, who saved her life when she became seriously ill days before the first Invictus Games in 2014.

He also shared a group hug with the British relay team after they won gold (not caring a smidge that he would get wet).
