The British Monarchy Website Gets a Modern Makeover
The official website of the British monarchy is getting a royal revamp — and it’s including some new, modern touches. Along with a redesigned layout and a host of new documents and photos for public perusal, the website will now include a tracking feature from Google Maps that will allow anyone to see what HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh are up to at any given moment.
Described as a sort of newfangled Court Circular, the website will also keep tabs on the official engagements of other senior royals, including TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, HRH The Duke of York, TRH The Earl and Countess of Wessex, and HRH The Princess Royal.
The new website is just the latest gesture The Queen has made to changing technology. She made an official visit to Google’s UK headquarters last October (see image above) and uploaded a video to her official YouTube channel. The groovy monarch also has her very own iPod.
The new royal website will launch tomorrow, February 12. For more information on The Queen and her technological pursuits, visit this thread.
